I tried to put up a new avatar for Halloween. Everything is "invalid" that I try. Ok, I give up. So I tried to go back to my old one, and it says that it also invalid. Well, if it was valid before, and I didn't change anything, how can this be so?

ENTJs don't give up. Did you try a random stock one? Maybe your account is acting temperamental for some wacky reason.

Check the size of file closely to see if it is near the 20KB mark. Same thing happened to me. My avatar was hovering near the 20K mark and, for whatever reason, when I tried to reload it, INTJf decided it was a little bigger than it was and I got the evil invalid warning.

I cant do it either. All that I've tried so far have reasonable dimensions and are under 20kb.
Invalid. Invalid. Invalid.

update: I was finally able to put back my old avatar. It's exactly the right pixel and file size, just as the others I tried. I still don't get the problem.

I don't have photoshop or anything like that. Just basic windows.
Guess I'll have to read the avatar threads. Ask someone else to resize it for me.

I think file size was the problem. It seems to really need to not be near 20kb. And the pixel size needs to be exact. Ame, there's a website called drpic I think that somebody else suggested. You can resize the image and then download it to your computer.

I'm finding that all of your posts are sounding quite evil now due to your new image.

Maybe they've been evil all along, and my old avatar soothed you into accepting them?

This is so frustrating, I found the dr. pic website and used it to resize my file to exactly 145 by 115 pixels and make the file size 8 kb but it STILL says 'invalid file.' I tried JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG...maybe I should try logging out and back in. Anyone have any advice??

What editor are you using, I use ImageForge it's free. For me only .jpeg files worked.

I was using Dr. Pic...I will try ImageForge. I just loaded up one of the ones from the INTJ forum database, and it worked. Hopefully I will be able to get the one I wanted uploaded with this site you suggested....thank you! :)

I believe it also mattered whether you made it 145x115 or 115x145. Try switching the dimensions. Good Luck!
