I had a talk with an interesting individual yesterday and have turn over his theory on the real-estate economic crisis in my head for the last 15 hours.
His theory is the crisis was a “planned event” to push the world to a single monetary fund. What he sees as the next step to a true one world government.
I am not one who looks at conspiracy theories as anything but fiction in most cases, but looking at the progression of the banking crisis, and knowing our political system has known about it from the mid 1990 makes me wonder if my friend might be hitting the nail on the head. What are your views on this issue?
I believe this to be the case.
The systematic weakening of the dollar is the only way to bring Americans on board with the idea of changing currency. De-value the dollar so much and we'll gladly switch over to a "more stable currency".
As I understand it there has already been negotiations and deals struck with Canada and Mexico (maybe others too) to introduce a new currency for the continent/hemisphere - currently dubbed the "Amero (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. i almost always hate conspiracy theories. i don't think this was a push towards that. i think it was simple stupidity. don't give people that much credit.

Perhaps you are right. But, then, perhaps you are giving them too much credit by allowing the problem to be blamed on simple stupidity.
We are talking about calculating financiers and bankers. People who have made their fortunes and accumulated vast amounts of wealth and power by careful and strategic long-term planning.

Watch the market and the news a bit, they act more like lemmings on crack. On micro scale I am sure some are very intelligent but in a large pack they seem to act like idiots.

Until these shadowy master economists go public with sufficient evidence, I wouldn't put much stock in to it. Even then I'd be skeptical. How could a group of people manhandle a world changing event with an obviously genius understanding of the system without coming out from behind the curtains and explaining it or at least taking credit for this magic show? Any big changes like a the global dollar or a unified Earth government are going to take time to establish, and this will probably happen only after decades of conflict between nations. What short term gains are to come from this that these mystery men will reap within their lifetimes? Or is it a humanistic move for the greater good or is it an experiment just to see what would happen? And how come everyone is too blind to see we're just pawns?
I think the economic crisis is more about circumstances. Greed, materialism, globalization, politics, national power, pride, terrorism, technological advances, tension between nations, a sense of security in a flawed system, etc. These are all factors and each plays its a role. It just seems like too much for an organized group of people to properly orchestrate.
On the other hand, I don't really have much worldly experience. Perhaps some people are more powerful than I can imagine. But if this were the case then it doesn't matter what I believe; it's not like I'm in control, much less in a position to seize such a power that I don't even understand to actually make a difference.

I like all these theories, but as a Canadian, I reject the idea that we are committing to a unified NA currency... though Im sure if the economy tanked enough, we'd probably be the first to sign on. :P
I have heard many conspiracy theories regarding the economic crisis:
1. It was the Republicans 'October Surprise' gone wrong... McCain was to come in and rescue the economy with this bill, but didnt have the political capital to pull it off.
(He actually sunk his campaign by signing onto it, with all the extra "earmarks" that were on it. Were he really against earmarks he'd be railing against the bill...)
2. Republicans figure they will lose in November, so destroying the economy before leaving, they will leave Obama with nothing to implement his agenda with, and will regain the White House in 4 years and keep the NeoCon dream alive ad infinitium. They were going to paint Obama as of the same stripe as Carter. (who was saddled with debt from the Vietnam War)
3. My personal thought.... by devaluing the US dollar, they are devaluing all US debts. Countries will be interested in keeping the US afloat , if they have a personal stake in it...and if the US is interested in paying off debts, it will be cheaper.
4. I heard on the radio today Naomi Wolf and she was a little weird actually.... She's thinking that the US is on course to become a fascist state (she has a list of 10 things fascists do before taking control, and she see's the Corporatocracy in the US as having all thier ducks in a row to take control around election-time).... Included in her theory is that a US military brigade has actually been deployed for a mission in THE US!!! :O !! lol
supposedly to stop any 'race riots' should Obama win.... She also mentioned that in the bailout bill there is $100 Billion for use at 'the Presidents discretion' ... Maybe she's onto something... or maybe she's gone bat-shit crazy.... :P

OK, I'll acquiesce that this theory it is not very probable from our stand-point.
However, I do believe this to be a very plausible possibility and I think there is a (very) long-term agenda, of the very upper echelons of wealthy people in the country/world, to migrate the rest of us to a single currency and a enslavement by debt. The possibility is there in a very macro sense, a situation like the current "economic crisis" lends itself very conveniently to this.
I don't consider myself a conspiracy nut, but I do find the exploration of these theories both interesting and entertaining.
Here's a 2 minutes CNBC interview from last November regarding the development of the North American Union (Canada, U.S., and Mexico) and its currency the "Amero". The guy says it right in the interview.. if you google it you'll find out all about it.

Might be bologna or might not be. Why not take a few minutes to read up on the concept(s) to make your own informed decision and let us/me know.

A.P. article -- fourth paragraph from the bottom speaks to the President's $100 billion discretionary allowance from the "bail-out".

Naomi is a bit on the eccentric side, but her words of warning are worth considering / acknowledging. Again, at least take 15 minutes to read up on it make your own decision.

enslavement by debt.
We already ARE. There's no further conspiracy needed for this (assuming there ever was one). The only problem is that bankers aren't perfect, despite what they might wish, and they can still (and always) lose it all it they aren't careful.
Remember: another word for "lobbyist" is "conspirator." So don't be too hasty to decry conspiracy theory, what have historically been conspirators have just changed their names and tried to legitimize themselves.

I've heard similar things about groups that go back to the 15th century, and even sooner than that. How anyone can think that this has all been organized by some kind of secret organization is beyond me. I'm still waiting for a conspiracy theory to become a conspiracy fact.
