Found out today that I am a "INTJ".....It puts a nice label on what I already knew I was: a pragmatic, smart, dedicated, hard worker, very good at my job, insensitive son of a bitch........"It is not what you say, it is how you say it" best summarizes my dilemma.
That's not the way I see myself NOW, but definitely, this is what the image I have created over the past 26+ years at work.
So now that I know that....How do I reverse the image?
I have been sidetracked for the past few years into a dead end, boring job which does not satisfy me a bit. I have asked to be transferred back to the Programming Dept. where I enjoyed what I was doing. But my "reputation" preceded me and the Department Head passed on the wonderful option to have me work for him.
I have mellowed over the years (I am 55 now), but I still have the fire in me to do great work.
Any ideas people? I am ready to prostitute myself......(translation: sell hot dogs on a street corner somewhere )........
Thank you for your time....
Eric.

Hey! Welcome to the forum.
You're being greeted by the old farts in the group.
I forget Ron. Are you older than me?

Reversing the image is tough. You would have to undergo a transformation from the inside out. People would just be able to "feel" that you have changed. (I'm serious. This happened to me once.)

Hi Eric.

Why did you want to discover your personality type? Work related?

For me: I observed my behavior/thinking was different. For example: I saw a woman walk up to another woman and ask, "How are you feeling?" I was stunned. Why didn't I think of that question? I am a woman too! This type of questioning provoked me to research why people behave the way they do.

Welcome to the Forum.
