I would like to announce the founding of the Orange Academy! This academy will be a place for all orangematicians, orangemists, and orangiscists to congregate and further our knowledge of orange through mathematics, chemistry, and physics!
To start us off, I would like to publish my first ever paper in orangematics, it provides the basis for all of orangematics and orangematic analysis! This paper provides an axiomatic system for understanding oranges as abstract mathematical objects. Please provide commentary and let me know if you'd like to join the academy, we shall be pursuing a place to store our published papers regarding oranges as soon as possible.
For my next paper I shall be drawing conclusions about the set of all limequats and how they are -WORTHLESS-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, at first I thought it was just me, then I had a suspicion and now I'm convinced. Underneath that cold, austere exterior mask. INTx's are deeply goofy, silly, funny peoples.

Before proceeding into the glories of orangosity I want to caution the unprepared and unpracticed on one of the hazards of orange. One of our comrades had an unfortunate incident;
I -DO-. I was one of the statistics, I tripped during my rehearsal of my dance when I had a realization about an axiomatic system of orangematics and screamed ZOMG ORANGES RULE and then fell and hurt myself :{.
That just goes to show that thinking 'orange' while engaged in otherwise safe activities can result in serious injury. Please, engage in safe oranging and always use protection!

Indeed comrade rwyatt, we must be careful. Just as archimedes made the mistake of running through the streets naked upon discovering the concept of buoyancy, I made the mistake of falling over like a clutz when I discovered orangematics. That being said, oranges will protect us, as an orange caught my fall and held me up.

Not in the least. I was quite impressed with the time and effort in presenting your thoughts on Orangematics. I will confess the equations are beyond me; however.

Heero, having just read your paper on orangematics, I am impressed with the depth of this ground-breaking research. It's about time that someone has undertaken this subject using an organized mathematical (or should I say, "orangematical") methodology.
Bravo!
I would like to register a slight suggestion though. I think it a bit premature to introduce tangerines into the 'orange-space', as it were. While many consider them to be derived from, and a part of the orange "set", I personally think that by restricting your data set strictly to oranges now you can focus your attentions to pure orangematics instead of being distracted by obscure topics. If you open the door now to tangerines, then who knows what other bastard fruits will divert attention (and the subsequent research funding); tangelos, and who knows what else!
Stay true to the orange, and the orange will stay true to you.

Indeed comrade, I was merely commenting on this topic as it is important for us to understand that orange is in most things, but not totally. I am studying both as we must not confine ourselves to just oranges, we must understand the relationship of all things in life to oranges.
That being said, naturally at this point most of my research is related to oranges themselves, not tangerines, the tangerines were just an example of more complex results being derived based upon the axiomatic system of orangematics.

Indeed. Very orange work, Heero. That is fool-proof evidence right there!
I also propose Orange Language Studies- inspired by your ingenious use of the word "orangin." Other suggestions:
or·ange [awr-inj, or-]
–noun
orange, orange-ness
1. a sacred citrus fruit of immeasurable power.
ex. "All Hail The Orange!"
-adjective
oranger-er, orang-est
2. of or pertaining to The Orange
ex: "May you have an Orange life"
3. a synonym for words that express impressive or positive regard, such as "good," "exellent," "cool," etc.
ex: "You are so orange!"
-idioms
4. "This can come to no orange," to end in failure.
-adverb
5. an action performed in a worthy manner
ex: "She orangely greeted her peers"
The word "Orange" can also be combined with other words to create new, marvelous ones:
1. orangin - origin
2. orangerrific - terrific
3. Orangematics - mathematical study of the orange
Feel free to add to the Orange Dictionary! :D

I almost forgot- we should have Orange Anthropology Studies which will explain the customs of the followers of the Orange.
Things to cover:
1. What to do when an orange is tossed to you.
2. Initiation into the Order of the Orange.
3. Common beverages among followers and when they are used, such as the toast of the juice, and the celebration of the screwdriver.

No, I am just a simple man who lived his life according to the orange, and one day was blessed by the visions of the orange and to share the true orangality of science with you all. I am but a man. I hope that all men and women may be as equally blessed by our chancellor of the academy as I have, and receive his wisdom of orangeness with open eyes and open ears, so that they may one day arrive at true orangeness, the inner peace that awaits all true followers of the orange.
May orange forever color your path in eternity brother.

I have started some groundbreaking work in the fledgeling science of Psychorangology (see attached). I was hoping to make this humble inclusion to the Orange Academy. I know that this is one of the 'soft sciences' and may not be worthy of your august institution, but I was hoping that you would look over this introduction and consider it for inclusion in your course studies.

ORANGEDICINE:
According to To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. below are some of the healing powers of the orange
"ORANGE
Oranges contain high amounts of vitamin C and A. Sweet orange juice acts as a mild laxative and is very effective during cough and cold, fevers, general debility, dimness of vision, anaemia, lassitude, constipation, scurvy, and headache. It cures vomiting and checks carsickness. It is very useful in low blood pressure.
It is an excellent food for children as a supplement for those who must drink milk because it seems to help in the retention of calcium in the body. Ripe oranges contain as much as ten percent fruit sugar, which can be immediately assimilated by the body.
As Medicine:
Fever: Orange is an excellent food in all types of fever when the digestive power of the body is seriously disturbed. Orange juice is the most ideal liquid food in fevers like typhoid, T.B. and measles. It gives energy, increases urinary output and promotes body resistance against infections, thereby helping to recover fast.
Dyspepsia: Orange is a good remedy for chronic dyspepsia. It stimulates the flow of digestive juices thereby improving digestion and increasing appetite. It also creates suitable conditions for the development of friendly bacteria in the intestines.
Bones and Teeth: As it is a good source of Vitamin C, it works well in the diseases of the bones and teeth. Giving large amounts of orange juice can cure pyorrhea and dental caries. Regular intake of oranges also helps in prevention of arthritis.
Heart Disease: Orange juice sweetened with honey, is highly useful in heart diseases.
Acne: The orange peel is valuable in the treatment of pimples and acne. The peel, pounded well with water, should be applied on the affected areas."

This, and the spiritual reverence for the orange, were the early foundations for the Oranginary Arts. Ancient Orangimands (Gourmands) were called upon by spiritual leaders and royalty to develop foods for festivals, holidays, and other such special occasions.
This will become the basis for my first paper on the Oranginary Arts.

And let me add, if you submit a LaTeX submission I'll probably mock you, I'm not arXiv and don't need source material, PDF, rtf, pictures, whatever finished deliverable you have will do :P
And also, once your submission is approved it will be displayed on the main page (same with departments that are approved, you'll be shown as the chair of it as well). We're also going to provide membership rosters eventually. Once your publication is approved the URL will be given on the page, you're welcome to hotlink it from any site (including this one). I don't have transfer limits on my servers, so yea...enjoy.

Oranger - person of courage and wisdom, vigourously defending the True Faith from malcontents and heretics. Originally a portmanteau of Orange and ranger, though the latter has fallen into obscurity.
Morange - mythical substance, said to extend the life of whomsoever consumes it, as well as granting extraordinary mental powers.

Were I to do another I'd use plain ol' TeX (Donald Knuth would roll in his grave if any area of Orange study was done in LaTeX).
