Okay, so it's probably not going to matter in the slightest for any practical purposes, but I notice that people with a post count of 0 cannot view images or avatars. However, while guests cannot view images, they can see avatars. Is that just a random quirk of the system, or was that intentional?

So, does the no post no image thing for purposes of googlebot, or is it for some other purpose? Just curious.

Edit: Ah, never mind. I see that the avatar thing is an option (turned off by default) that you can change. Guess I leapt to conclusions. My bad.

Matthew, thank you for bringing this to my attention. It wasn't intentional. The avatars and images should be on by default after registration. I just set up the new forum software this weekend so I'm still adjusting the settings.

I mainly turned image/attachment viewing off for guests to reserve the bandwidth for members.

Well, that certainly explains the image situation. Out of curiosity, why are links disabled for guests and 0-post accounts?

Because "disable viewing images and links for X post count" is all in the same option in the administration panel.
