View Full Version : Pick Your 2008 Candidate For President
Very cool test, don't know if its reliable but interesting test nonetheless. This test picks your ideal candidate based on your answers to a series of multiple choice questions.
My results:
77% Mitt Romney (R) <--I don't know why he's at the top of my results, I don't/didn't like him :)
73% John McCain (R) <-- Candidate still on the race
71% Fred Thompson (R)
65% Mike Huckabee (R)
63% Tom Tancredo (R) <-- Don't/didn't like this guy either
59% Rudy Giuliani (R)
53% Ron Paul (R)
47% Barack Obama (D) <-- Candidate still on the race
47% Hillary Clinton (D)
47% Bill Richardson (D)
44% John Edwards (D)
42% Chris Dodd (D)
41% Joe Biden (D)
26% Dennis Kucinich (D)
25% Mike Gravel (D)
I guess the test did a good job overall, I would indeed prefer McCain to be the next president. One thing that is weird is that I am labeled as a "liberal" by all the tests I've taken. I'm confused now, don't know what I am.

I didn't like it much. I thought a lot of the questions were too black and white. Of course, I never much cared for tests like these and it has to be black and white because that's how the candidates usually express their views on campaign. I bet the maker(s) of this test didn't go into voting records and the like.

Much too much black and white. Opinions on governence shouldn't really be restricted to only a sentence or two.
I'm glad I don't have to vote as I was 70% McCain and 70% Obama. I'm not ideological.

Huckabee is far from being my top pick. I like Ron Paul and Fred Thompson.
The same-sex marriage question might have thrown it off. I answered that there should be "no marriage, no civil unions and no partnerships of any sort." That wording is accurate, but it might have been a badly worded version of "no same-sex marriage, civil unions or partnerships of any sort," resulting in the test scoring me as supporting gay marriage bans while also supporting the government institution of marriage for heterosexuals.

I think we tend to be conservative compared to other NTs, which is not saying much. That's not to say that other NTs tend to be unusually liberal, though. I think as a group we have the greatest tendency to be centrists.

Well, for a given value of "center." The tendency isn't so much to hold moderate views, I think, but more to incorporate ideas from completely opposite ends of the spectrum because they seem to work. So you end up more a centrist by averages, but not a true centrist.

Not bad, I am actually more conservative than these results allowed. My conservatism is fiscal though, not social. McCain is an idiot though, he just says whatever sounds good at the time, he's nothing but a badly trained PR guy for the GOP. The debate tonight instilled a lot of animosity in me towards the GOP that didn't exist previously.
