Avatar Contest

I propose an avatar contest. No real end, and no real prize... but there are some magnificent avatars here. People have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into them, and I think they deserve comment.

I recommend that people nominate avatars for recognition in particular catgories:

Most Beautiful, Most Creative, Coolest, Scariest, Best Animal, etc.

So, nominations are now open for avatar awards: you state the category, and make nominations!

Of all the avatars I've seen, my favourites are still the pair Jezebel and stasis had when I joined. I loved the photography. The martini girl and the girl with headphones. Excellent avatars.

The avatar is a humanoid squid head. There is no nose and a weird face. Markings that could be makeup or a natural pink pigmentation...who knows. The fingers are all squiggly and long. I mean the art quality is good and the pic all in all looks fairly nice..it just gives me the creeps.

Anyway, I think monte has the most math in an avatar. ;)

Okay, I'm putting up a $100 prize for the "Universally Best Avatar on the INTJ Forum".

Contest Rules:

People may not vote for themselves. People may only submit one vote. If they submit more, only the first one will be counted.

Each post is one vote, and one vote to a post.

Only votes cast by posting on this thread, beginning September 24, 2008, count. Votes cast before this post do not count. The slate has been wiped clean.

Only votes from the next up to 200 posts to this thread will be counted.

Voting closes at 12:00 Noon on September 30, 2008, or when 200 new posts to this thread have been made (whether they contain votes or not), whichever happens first.

The avatar receiving the greatest number of votes wins; in the event of a tie, the prize will be evenly divided among the top vote getters.

Monte314 will tally the votes to select the top vote getters, and will submit these counts to ElstonGunn, who will have the final say on what the final vote is, and who the winner is. His decision is not open to appeal.

I've been switching quite a bit lately, trying to settle into something special. I have a picture of blood pudding with lingon berries and butter coming up next but perhaps I'll keep up my current one since we're into the contest already. It's good and all, but more of a transition piece for me :p

I know since this person is a moderator it might seem like kissing up or something but I truly think this is my favorite avatar and I can't think of a reason to disqualify fairly.

I'm not to good at this speech thing but here goes. First I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me all two of them, Thanks SimplyOtter, and thanks Ligda. Thanks to ElstonGunn for counting that high and thanks to Monte for the cash. I'm sorry that I have to decline the cash because that would put me in a higher tax bracket and I just don't want to report it to the IRS.

With that in mind, I have asked Monte to donate the prize to his local animal shelter.
