Has anyone here ever had any dreams or thoughts that became reality? It has happened to me several times and I will share some of them later. But for now I must sleep because I have that place called work that I am required at in a few hours. :(

Only once and it was really extremely stupid. Some girl was sitting beside me, and I 'heard' her say "Could you shift your chair up a bit" .. but turned around to find she didn't say anything at all. About 2 minutes later she said "Could you shift your chair up a bit?" It was weird..

The other 'prophecy' I have is of where I'm going to die.. It's going to be in a highrise near a bridge or crossway of some sort. But well.. I won't be able to tell you if that's true until I"m dead >.>

Yeah, I've had a few dreams that have come true (so has my mother for that matter). I've always found it to be creepy. It's not happened often enough for me to think of it as more than just a coincidence though (except for the time my mother and I had the same dream, which then came true).

One of my more memorable dreams involved me sitting on a bed. There was a silhouette of a woman laying down. I asked her her name too wich she replied and then her birthday. Then a few months later I meet my ex girlfriend. I knew her name and told her the date of her birthday before there was any possible way I could have know from another source. Both were correct. Has anyone else heard of anything like this?

I've had impressions of things before they happened. I use to drive on a one line dirt road all the time, and on a few occasions I predicted when a car was going to come around a corner. Now, it COULD have been that I heard it subconsciously...but I dunno. A few other things have happened too, like reading/watching a scene in a book/movie that I'd already "remembered". That's also weird.

I often get that sense of deja vu aswell. But it is usually related to something that I am doing or somewhere that I arrive at ect... Reminds me of that cat in the Matrix everytime. Then I get to think about how I am probably just insane.

Deja Vu is one thing. I have a distinct "memory" of the "past occurrence", not a vague sense of familiarity. It's weird, I assure you.

I have had some dreams come true, but also had many more dreams not come true.
Thus I believe the specific causes of such phenomena to be rare at best.

I have had several prophetic dreams/visions/premonitions. I suspect that it was simply my brain working out whatever puzzle in the quiet of my sleep.

I used to have those little Deja-vu moments but haven't had one for a while which I prefer. It really screws with your sense of reality and they tend to make me nauseous.

just maybe deja vu is a tiny electron hiccup at brain cell synapses which causes the familiar i've seen/heard/felt this before

Oh yeah...
I think when I get deja-vu's it's jsut things that happen similarily to something that's happened in a dream or something.

Sometimes I get false memories from a dream I've had because it was so realistic. It's kind of scary actually... maybe I'm going delusional ;D

No, but it's still prophetic, it could be 60% accurate, and you will still get the main point behind it!

Yes, albeit rarely. Enough to remind me that time is not as linear as we think, with a nod to quantum physics.

The most dramatic was that I dreamt a male gay friend (well, more of a bi friend, it turns out...) was marrying a mutual female friend of ours, and the three of us were shopping together in a ritzy area with lots of old brick buildings outside the main city we lived nearby. I woke up thinking, "That was silly. He's *gay*!" But a year latter they got engaged, asked me to be a bridesmaid, and we were shopping for wedding supplies in that area in the dream (not at all by my suggestion, I must add!).

I have also have had a few dreams of places within a year or so before traveling to them (usually a new country). I'll suddenly see a very specific sight in the new place, and be hit hard by deja vu (this happened when I moved to Canada for a while, and again visiting Wales). In another, I dreamt my luggage got lost the night before a flight, and it did. The dream helped me to stay calm during the real-life situation.

Last night I dreamt quite vividly of passing the bar exam (results are due out soon). That one had *better* be prophetic! ;D

I've had many incidents of "knowing" I will see certain people soon just before I run in to them. Yesterday I got a phone call from someone who's never called me; I was thinking about them calling just before the phone rang. I've never had a dream of premonition though.

I've been experimenting with lucid dreaming for the past couple months and find it useful for guiding and recalling my dreams. Nothing to wild on my end to report, but nonetheless interesting.

The last dream I've had included Pres. Truman asking me "where have I been" and followed immediately by Sadat being assassinated (which saddened me). Mind you, I was born in '84 and have no direct connection to either of these characters.

When I was around 14 I had a dream that my grandmother passed away and said good bye to me. Then when I awoke I learned that she did pass away that night. From that moment on I swore never to use my dreams for evil again.

If some of my dreams came true ::shudders:: Dead close relative coming back to life - that one just freaked me out on weirdness. Friends dying and looking completely different....

Sometimes I'll have dreams about things I need to do and I do them in my dreams and then I realize in real life "Oh, I didn't do that yet."

Hmn.. I once dreamed that my cousin was pregnant. The next morning I find out she was, and had been hiding it for 3 months.

Just a few weeks ago I dreamt I was robbed at a friends house and then poof sure as shit it happened. The dream was not 100% accurate but the location, height of the assailant and the gun were all the same. Sometimes when I am playing cards I just know what cards I am going to be dealt. This usually only happens when I'm stoned though.

I can ALWAYS guess the time within 2 minutes when I'm at swim team. It doesn't work anywhere else, but I've verified it by making sure I was nowhere near the clock before I guessed the time. I'm not sure why this is, and don't get me wrong, I've tried to find out.

I think its all imagination, or it could be like in the matrix with the black cat...but without anyone alive changing it and instead just some error wich occur to our senses. After all I don't believe in time, its all static and what we see is fragments of that.

Oh, for sure. I've had dreams that have changed my life. Very specific dreams that have come true. I don't have them very often...but when i do... man... things get crazy.

I've found that sometimes I'll find myself thinking a lot about someone from my past for no explicable reason. Usually, I'll run into that person if I've been thinking about them.
I'm skeptical when it comes to any kind of paranormal anything, and realize that it's very possible that there could be some very rational explanation for why this happens to me, but I don't (at this time) know what that explanation is and find it a very strange occurance.

I have been having some prophetic dreams for a while now. Usually, I forget my dream immediately after I wake up. Yet, when I actually experience the event, I get a rushing memory of it and suddenly I realize that I dreamt of it before. One instance was when I correctly dreamt of my Reading class back in 7th grade and the location where I was sitting, only to find out later that that is the same spot where I was assigned to later on in the school year. I'm either fooling myself or these dreams have some meaning.

A couple timesthat I recall. Once at either 11 or 12 I was in my house at the kitchen table and I had a flat pencil that was painted red on the outside and had red-tinted lead. I was sharpening it with an electric pencil sharpener that was specially designed for flat pencils, even though that doesn't make any sense (randoim neurons firing and all). I awoke, thought it was a weird dream, went to school and someone had a bunch of flat, red colored pencils, of which I somehow obtained two, don't remember how, although the lead was standard colored and there were no specially designed pencil sharpeners. It was the damnedest thing.

Another time, don't remember how old I was, I went over to the house across from ours and there was an elderly couple living there who kept the thermostat oppressively high. It was so hot I almost felt like I was on fire. I had to get outta there, but you know how dreams are, you never really seem to succeed at whatever you're attempting. Don't remember much else of the dream. Something like a half-year later the house in question caught on fire. I told my grandmother about the dream and the old couple and she said that an old couple did live there. Now I never knew of the people living in that house, let alone knew what they looked like, but they were white in my dream and in reality.

Also, once I dreamed I was making sweet love to Natalie Portman, but that dream has yet to come true. :blank::(

Strange stuff.

For the people who feel like they have had prophetic dreams, is there anything about the dream state that clues you in that it is prophetic? Can you gain any insight into the universe based on your dreams, or is it only after the fact that you come to realize that what has actually happened matched up with what you dreamed previously?

Has anyone here actually used a prescient dream to alter the course of the future? I suppose I would count that guy who said he used information gained in a dream to pick up a girlfriend. Anyone else have that kind of success?

This is what usually happens to me. I'll have that deja vu moment and remember exactly when I dreamed it, having no recollection of the dream until the moment happens. Though I did have a dream during an afternoon nap once where I woke up thinking "huh, that was really ordinary" (the vast majority of my dreams could never happen in real life). Well, a few days later that dream happened verbatim.

I've also had a few occasions where I'll be listening to new talk radio and recognize something being said as if I've heard it before and know what will be said next (not precisely, but the gist of what's coming).

I'm working on some things; I'll get back to you if I succeed. :)

Prophetic dreams? No. I have what some might call "visions", though I don't see anything. I just feel things and come to a nonverbal decision in my head. Perhaps I am observant enough to catch facial and body language clues of people around me to know what they are going to say before they say them, but this has also often happened while talking to someone online.

I get this too. I have a gut feeling that what I am seeing will come true. It is always about what I will be doing in the future. Yeah, I am beginning to become completely convinced that I can predict my future. This might have something to do with the fact that I also believe I have an absolute power to shape my future. If this is true, than it makes sense that I would "see" the future.

Remote viewing is all about looking into the future, which, I think, requires a very developed intuition...

I have had several experiences that are formally called precognitive dreams, in my lifetime so far.

The most memorable was in the early '90's.

The dream experience was I was talking to someone. I couldn't see them. But there was dialog back and forth. What ever the discussion was about, it was spectacularly mundane. We were in something and there was some kind of feeling or sensation of something going 'on'. I also felt 'bent over'. It was almost totally black.

When I awoke I remembered the dream and general impressions and made a mental note to keep a look out for it actually happening. This was not my first time having had this type of experience and I knew it was a precognitive dream. (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.): Precognition is typically defined as knowing or perceiving events before they actually occur. According to Carl Jung, [1] psychic energy might be operative.

A couple weeks later the event occurred.

The first thing that hit me was a strange sensation, a pressure in my ears and our voices echoing in my head - her voice and my voice.
The other person was a woman I was dating and we were talking about something totally normal that had occurred that day. It was night time and we were traveling in a vehicle.

The occurrence was like watching a video with the audio off by a split second.

Where do I begin? I am very precognitive. I have had precognitive dreams; precogntive experiences wide awake that was percieved as living time out of order many times; and then getting to experience it all over again in the proper time order; just knowing-sensing-something was about to happen and being able to take advantage of it; other times, knowing things were going to happen and not being able to do anything to change it.

I cannot count how many precognitive events I've had. All I know for sure is that linear time is illusionary.

I know this author who said that he had a dream in which the picture above the bed he slept in fell and made a big crash. He woke up instantaneously and a second later the picture really fell down.

I know exactly how you feel...Often times my dreams are so vivid and that I think they are real! I think this ability comes from our over active minds! Because INTJ's are always thinking about life outside of what we experience, our brains seek more than just our reality.

Dreamt that I saw the trailer of a Star Trek episode. That episode actually came a few weeks later.

Playing Minesweeper, I once saw a flash of how the game would look like once I clicked on a tile that had a bomb under it - and that's exactly how it looked.

Can't recall any other real instances.
