At the most basic level, humans are only really meant to reproduce and survive. Some might say the pursuit of happiness and technological advancement are the most important. Others think we must strive for a better cosmic enlightenment to attain spiritual immortality.
What do you think?
To ME, the meaning of life has always been to find the meaning of life :)
There are two distinct possibilities: one, every person has to find(give) a personal meaning to HIS(and his only) life. Two, there is a superior/absolute meaning to it all, a truth whose finding is undoubtly the destiny of us NTs :)

My formula to life:
Knowledge + Maturity = Enlightenment.

Life means the period of time when I'm conscious and thinking, to me. The rest is just filler.
But yeah, I think that biological purpose aside (which is somewhat obsolete, what with our species' current domination), you make your own purpose. You don't even have to make your own purpose. You could even just live, simply as you like. The only thing that's sad is when people take the expectations of others and live only for that.

For me it's to strive for the betterment of the system but I suppose it's different for everybody. Some people just want to mold the system, or bend it to whatever way they want, but me, I'd like to straighten it. So, as you can see I should hate bureacracy to the core. :o

At the biological level it is simply to survive and reproduce. On a cognitive level, humans aim to understand their surroundings. Nowadays, most people aim to be accepted by mainstream culture so I guess socially it means to fit in and be accepted(yuck). I know life as no meaning, but I don't wake up depressed, instead I do what Einstein did, strive to understand mystery. You could say on a biological level it is to think(mankind's curiosity is immense), reproduce and survive. If your more hedonistic you can say to live out a pleasurable lifestyle. But, I think the sole purpose of life is to achieve what you make as the purpose of life. That is, if my purpose in life was to win a Nobel Prize then I would have no reason to live after I did achieve it or die a failure if I did not. Religious views are to achieve a favorable afterlife or connection to one or more Gods, sometimes it is to achieve a state of enlightenment or something of that sort. I guess you could say just to live is the purpose of life, and what we do to live is what fuels our purpose of life.
