:-?
as in being in water, or drinking water, or what?
I actually have a phobia of unidentified liquids (eg. water that came from unknown origins).
However, I love long baths/showers.
So would that be liking water or not?

I like water. Why?
Because when you're not dehydrated, you feel a lot better then when you're are.

Yes.
But I think the whole "drink 8 glasses of water a day" is ridiculous and unfounded. I drink it when I'm thirsty.

Agreed. You can tell if you are properly hydrated if your urine is clear.

You are supposed to drink half a gallon for every 100 pounds you weigh.
Yes.

Same here... though I've recently found that it IS better to drink more water (natural detox).
And that sometimes when you're mildly thirsty, your brain makes you think you're hungry (to get moisture from food). *So if you drink more water you wouldn't have to eat as much, and in turn excercise as much to keep fit *:D
It's quite a bit more efficient. *Though I must say I'm very picky about the taste of my water.
I actually have a fear of water. I used to swim a lot, but I couldn't pass a certian level because I couldn't stand the water in my nose for such a long period of time.

That's actually the main reason I never learned to swim.

How much is half a gallon in litres?

How much is half a gallon in litres?
1.9 or so.
4 liter milk jugs in Canada are very slightly larger than our 1 gallon milk jugs in the US.

So like, 2L for me...
Drinking that much water is going to be really, really difficult for me.

According to the 4 humors our element is water, cold and moist like winter.

Water is a very fluid thing, It can refer to many things, drink, entertainment, vodka substitute. But I do enjoy Daoist analogys with water and life.

I know I should drink more water. I'll fix ice tea every day at work. Fill like a super big gulp cup but it's rare that I finish it. I'm not often thirsty but I know I need to drink more than I do.

Of course - at least I do but only if mixed with good gin as in
gin [tonic] water.......... water as in h2o, I'll only drink about 1 glass a day as any more than that, I start acting silly - it totally screws up my alcohol system.

i love water as much (if not more) as deicruxified does! well i don't particularly like baths though since i feel like i'm wasting my time just soaking there. all the foam and bubbles are annoying too. i love cold showers! 8-) but i don't really drink cold things since it screws with my throat. ice in drinks is the enemy :scared:

Love water. Love swimming, love scuba diving, love showers and hot tubs. Love drinking it, both straight and mixed with certain adult beverages. Love the stuff. I love the fact that it doesn't really react to other things like it's supposed to. Weird stuff, water. It expands in it's solid form, contracts in it's liquid form. Under cold and pressure, it forms little ball bearings and lets glaciers slide more easily over rock. It does it's own thing. Cool.

I like water, mainly cause it's the healthiest drink and you can grab it in lots of different flavors. I drink at least 2L a day on average. To clarify, I don't really drink anything with caffeine, sugars, or alcohol unless on rare occasions.

unfortunately DHMO contaminates water quite frequently.
Therefore I don't like it.
(it's not just like one of the weirdest most useful compounds evah, isn't it?!?!)

I'm on a swim team and swim 3 hours a day, if that helps. :D

My parents joked I was part fish as a child - I lived in the water. I love the water - being in it and drinking it. Other than coffee, water is all I drink.

Yes, Yay for water. I go through phases of drinking it all of the time, but I am living in a place with nasty tasting water, at the moment. I take long showers and love to swim, although I used to be afraid of the stuff, even though I can't figure out how to stop floating. I am also not a large fan of getting water all up in my nose. I'll do the backstroke or look silly by always holding my nose under water. ::)

I love water. I drink so much of it (but it has to be purified- I hate tap water).

Umm... I'm very afraid of water. I did stupid stuff or my bro would do stupid stuff when I was in the water so I hyperventilate and sweat when I'm near water. The problem is that I love to swim. It makes me feel free so I can spend hours in the pool just swimming. I also like adrenaline so when I tried waterskiing... it made me... happy? What would you call the feeling you get from adrenaline? Ecstasy? There must be a better way to say it than Adrenaline Rush.
On subject again, I love and hate water. Does this help your subject at all or am I being one of those stupid people, "I believe we should keep internal heating because of blahblahblah, but I alaso agree with my opponent. We should get rid of it because of blahblahblah."?

Yeah, I never learned how to swim ::) And I won't go in murky water. I need to be able to see my legs. :scared:

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! I love it. Deeply. Whether it's swimming, drinking, showering or simply relaxing in it, I love every second of it (except when it's too hot). Oddly, I find ice cold water deeply relaxing. :-?

I tried learning to swim as a child (i.e. 5th grade), but quit after I nearly drowned (seriously - I was saved by an 11th grade lifeguard...poor girl).
I tried again in high school (10th grade I think), because it was required, but it lead to me almost drowning again (and the subsequent lifting of the swimming requirement for graduation). So I think I'm done with deep water :)

I'm a huge fan of it- adore swimming (skinny dipping is one of life's little pleasures), and love sailing. Anyone else long to fall asleep to the gentle sway, the tinging of the shrouds...

Haha, I answered 'Only for bathing' because I thought it related to swimming. Then, I considered all the connotations of the question (water for drinking, water for looking at, water recreation besides swimming, water as an ecosystem.. etc etc)
Then I looked at the posts, and found that it was referring to drinking water. Luckily, I don't prefer water to drink either.
Am I messed up or what?

I have to correct myself - oh the shame- that's the halyards that ting.*hangs head*... any proper sailor should know.
And hey, what? This was only about drinking water? Sorry, my bad.
