An INTJ and an ENFP... twins. *Are there any other twins out there with interesting, opposing personalities? *
I think I am more convincingly empathetic because of my ENFP twin- I have been forced to constantly reassure her which, over time, has become second nature in my friendships with girls. *But upon self-reflection, I realize throughout my girlfriend relationships I have very shallow concerns for the other. *Although convincing to my friends, my sister remains my biggest emotional critic. *You can imagine my criticisms of her, lack of independence, confidence, attainable ambitions, and her overwhelming need of attention. *The most interesting difference between us is how we give and receive criticism (she dishes it and I eat it up, but never the other away around!)
ps I'm brand new to this board and am very excited about the exchange of ideas! *

Just wondering... Are you identical or fraternal twins?

We actually do not know if we are identical or fraternal- for some strange reason we were not tested at birth and have not sought the answer out since. Do we look alike? you may ask... and that is truely subjective: half the people we know say "yes! sooo identical!" and the other half so "nooooo totally fraternal." I believe we are identical because, even at 25, I'm still confused for Katy by her old classmates whom I have never met!

Indentical Twin Implications: Personality type is completely independent of genetics.
Highly unlikely.

im a twin too, and me and my brother didnt know either, until we got a blood test and they said we are... the thing is, if anybody says u look identical, it is most likely you are. if your fraternal you look different, like brothers. identicals look at least a little similar.
and im an infj, but i think i might be an enfj or enfp. my bros definetly intj/istj. not sure which.
well its definetly true that twins arent the same types! (as some people just "assumed")

Hhhmmm...I'm not sure this is accurate. They say you are born with 70% of your personality type...can't believe that comes from the internal environment of the womb.

Hi,
I am an identical twin and an INTJ. My twin brother is also an INTJ. My father im very sure is an INTJ. I also have two sisters who are identical twins too and they both tested INTJ too. My father has bipolar and has not been in mine or my siblings life very much. So has not been much of an influence, my Mum (ISFJ) has brought us up. All us kids are INTJ's and we definetly have our similarities but we also have large differences. The MBTI works well as the first way to identify why some people are the way they are, but it is nearly irrelevant beyond that, everyone is extremely complex and other things like, ambition, morals, culture and experiences change how people act. Although my brother and I share similar dreams and are very close, I am currently at univeristy studying and he is travelling around Australia on his motorbike basically being a beach bum. One of my sisters wants to be a policewomen and the other possibly a fashion designer.
However saying that, we all get along well and when all home it is a quiet place. I think that one of the real tell tales of someones MBTI is conversation. If its passionate (and genuine, not fake) the people probably have compatible or similar MBTI, what ever the conversation. The ESFP's love talking about shoes or whatever it is they do, and they would be just a involved as a couple of INTJ's trying to out do each other on movie quotes.
Well I got a bit off topic, conclusion, in my family there are 4 twins all INTJ and all very different.
i find this very interesting, LadyHuna. will be interested to hear more.
i used to get a genetics newsletter and have been following the human genome studies for a long while. these kinds of genetic/environmental things, even if anecdotal, but analysis laden, draw my attention.
welcome!

welcome lady huna!
The topic of MBTI inheritance always makes my Ne spider sense tingle as I can start to pick out patterns but not quite in a way that results in a solid conclusion. Ne Fail...
Anyways it SEEMS like INTJ and ENFP are not uncommon in families together...thus if you were fraternal, it would not be at all unheard of to have an ENFP sister.

I'm INTJ and my twin (fraternal) is INFP. We look nothing alike, but have similar interests.
