given the implications of a forum for this kind of personality i'll say this:

i don't do small talk. i'm a visual artist, writer, and filmmaker. i'm doing grad school in Georgia. anyone compelling is free to use my Myspace for AIM to contact me, I'm on fairly regularly. I'm skeptical about online forums, i think they're generally just venues for emoticons and mutual nerd-ego handjobs. anyone distributing handjobs can get my cell number, but you have to sign a contract.

You should be in good company with your interests and distaste for small talk. I usually don't care for forums either (at least not ones made just for socializing), but have high hopes that this one won't have all the usual annoyances.

i'm sure i could find it on here somewhere, but when was this forum started? is it as REALLY new as i think it is, because in that case, this may be a fair start.

September 12th was the first day we went public (public as in submitted to search engines and linked to other websites). September 1st would be the day I installed the forum, and members who registered before the 12th were invited to help me test. For being just a little over a week old, I don't think we're doing too shabby.
