currently for me in no particular order:
1) hike the appalachian trail
2) retire on a remote homestead (away from the things of man)
3) find my soul mate (hey i like to dream)
your turn...
1. Travel, everywhere... experience as much as I can first hand... and get wiser for as long as I get older
2. Get my own dream house built, with a large enough yard for a small stable and a horse or two *:lovestruck:
3. Make enough money to start a fund for a good cause (like bikerscars says, I can dream *;) ); or basically to have done something for the world, even if it's only within my community

Wow man... what high hopes you have...
*points above* notice the preparation for a hermit life.
I've totally thrown those plans out the window until I find it's possible to find someone good enough to marry. *[smiley=blank.gif]

I don't think Europeans are ever 'reserved' on the road... but maybe, I'll have to wait till I visit Germany to see for me-self

Haven't broken one yet. Honestly, I really am superstitious about breaking mirrors. I had to leave a room in which I was helping a student with her computer 'cause her and her roommate broke a mirror they were carrying in :-[

I think thats a J thing. You get caught up in ritual tradition.
You should just confront all your superstitions by actually breaking them all. I've walked under ladders, broken mirrors and proverbially kicked the black cat that crossed my path.
Like I say to people, always confront your weaknesses otherwise they will hold back your abilities.

Too many things, too little time. I can't begin to narrow down my long list of things to do, see and understand to three things over a lifetime. As I get older, the list only gets longer.
However, on my deathbed there are three things that I hope I can look back on and know about myself (1) I gave back more than I took; (2) I gave everything my all; and (3) I lived my life my way.

1. same here about the remote homestead, but up north with lots of snow: no more having to hear tour buses back up, helicopters, municipal fireworks, construction trucks, neighbours' cars with broken mufflers, other peoples' dogs barking, interfamilial fights in their backyard. I want the silence that is deafening when I wake up in the morning. The snow day kind of quiet.
2. have a PhD beside my name
3. stay married, and have provided net benefit to my partner.
if I had more..
4. live (and sail) on a moderately-sized sailboat, in a nice marina (yes, you can do that all year even here in Canada)

Wiat, Paul V, what do you mean that you'd only want to extend the 'lifespan' of the world if you had true love?
Um, no. I meant the opposite, actually. I meant that if I can't find true love, I won't settle for less. And instead of having a family and all that, I'll dedicate myself to protect the world until I die or it is destroyed, whichever happens first.

This is more of my take on this question. The details of what I do aren't so important, as long as I keep on growing and learning and living my life the way that I see fit. There's a long list of how I want to do this, but it is ever-changing.
