Palm Desktop Problem

I have a question for any computer geniuses who use Palm Desktop.

When I want to color code my appointments for my calendar the appointments turn from the normal gray box to an unusable box of the color I choose. How do I fix this and have the appointment boxes operate normally, but color coded?
