Hey folks!
I'm wondering if anybody has thought about the idea of creating a section of the forums specifically tailored for INTJ dating and relationship issues.
I ask because threads pop up on this issue all the time and end up in any number of places. Sometimes they're in the psychology section if they're about what's going on in somebody's head on the matter. Sometimes they're in the sociology section if they're about external behavior. Sometimes they're in the MBTI section if they're about relationships between INTJs and other types.
I'm wondering if the interest in discussing these issues (quite a lot) might make it worthwhile to create another subforum in the behavior section.

What would be left in those other sub forums if the relationship threads were taken out? They seem to comprise most of the sociology section so I think of it as a pseudo relationship forum.

There are some non-relationship threads on there, like the ones on pedophilia (well, I'm hoping that's not a relationship thread) spanking children, vanity, sense of humor, et cetera.

I did a quick survey of the first page of sociology. Between about 11 and 15 of the 25 threads on page one are about relationships (depending on how loosely you define "about relationships"), so that's a lot of that subforum's traffic.
EDIT: Also, about 32-36 of the top 50 most replied to threads in that forum are relationship related.

Exactly, it's the loss leader, draws people in and then they browse through the other unloved threads.

Should the same be said for a Sexuality/Mature Topics subforum?

I thought about it. As the forum continues to grow, some of the larger subforums get split up to disperse traffic. The General Sociology forum, being one of our most active forums, will probably be one of these subforums. Dating and relationship issues is one of the most popular topics in that subforum so this is a likely direction to go.

I'm curious what you would consider 'mature' topics.

Oh, it's just that "Sexuality" and "Mature" Topics seem to be used interchangeably. Although, I guess since this is a site for ages 18 and over, this sort of forum probably wouldn't matter that much. Although, such a subforum should probably be put out of Googlebot's view like at other MBTI sites.
(I'm not talking about porn, of course, but just the discussion of sexuality.)

So that's how it is, huh? The right hand re-organizes the forums, and the left hand supplants me. I will not stand idly by while my kingdom is chipped away at. I will not tolerate being gerrymandered out of that which divine right entitles me to.
:p Actually, it might not be a bad idea. Worth considering, at least.

Pauvre Elston, who must watch as his territory is compromised. On a second hand though, relationships ARE a part of sociology, and its not getting too crowded in my opinion.

How the mighty have fallen. The once proud expanse of General Sociology is now being parcelled off like so many remnants at a garage sale. Who will be next? Philosophy and Ethics? Science and Health? Will there be nothing left of the "old gaurd"? Elston, your kingdom shall always be strong in our hearts (even as it is torn asunder).
