And it's an interesting place to visit *

I recently discovered I am an INTJ via the Keirsey temperament sorter. *The "portrait" information about my personality type was enough to give me the shivers.

Past employers had informed me I was an ENTJ or ESTJ via management personality tests - - and since I strongly disagreed with those "type" descriptions of me, I discounted the label. *It took me a while to realize I needed to discount that employer. * ;)

Description of me? *Hmm. *Well, here's what I hear from the touchy feely folks when I've breezed past them on my way to some inane meeting, where I'll be a few minutes early [and prepared] while nearly everyone else will arrive late, not having read any of the material: *Too businesslike, too direct, too distant, too logical. *

I live in central Illinois in "the sticks," have two daughters, work as as a CFO and teach economics at a private college.

You sound like a good addition to our growing collection of INTJs. Welcome!

Thanks - looks like I'm in good company 8-)

You can add me to the list of forum members who are female INTJs - - am I correct in thinking we are a rather small percentage of the "personality trait" population?

Indeed. You may have already seen it, but here's our discussion about INTJ gender distribution (http://intjforum.com/YaBB.pl?num=1191391323). We do have a fairly active population of INTJ females on the forum, which is a good thing.

Hi Reacher- good to hear from another business-oriented member.
Yes, I can relate to your "too ...." description. Fortunately at CFO level few can object, but at my more junior level, colleagues in the last blue chip grew tired of the constant ideas, eagerness to improve, pieces of advice I'd give and an inability to handle fragile egos.

Welcome.
