There aren't enough words to describe the state of rapture I was in while watching this film.I would like to know what types all of you believe these characters are.I am still developing my abilities to discern one type over another-as far as typing other people goes. One thought: Inspector Gordon is an INFJ? The Joker INTJ? He was a master at contingency planning...among other things..................

Someone told me they saw this yesterday. I had no idea what they were talking about. I'm fairly removed from pop culture.

Yeah, The Dark Knight was definitely my favorite movie of the year. I was a huge Batman fan growing up, and this was the only Batman movie that really captured the dark mood of the comic. Heath Ledger was absolutely incredible, he hit just the right notes (nihilistic anarchic psychosis). I think The Joker was actually more of an INFP than an INTJ...

I think you may be right and by the way nihilistic anarchic psychosis is a beautiful description.

I think Gordon is an ISTJ, Batman/Bruce Wayne is an INTJ, and Joker is an INTP or INFP. At one point he said something like "I'm a dog chasing cars. I don't have plans. I just do things. I'm not a schemer." and also that he is an agent of chaos who was seeking to show the schemers just how little control they have in the world. Obviously we're speaking in stereotype here and that seems a lot more 'P' than 'J'.

Joker is an ENTP.
Lucius Fox is an INTJ. Morgan Freeman probably is, too.
Bruce Wayne is probably an INTJ, as well.

I heard Christian Bale (the guy who plays batman) is a real life INTJ too. So it would kinda make sense.

Bale's an INFJ, he's an idealist, a huge idealist.

Joker is an ENTP.
Yeah, I thought the Joker was more of an ENTP....but I think he could even be an ENFP.
Nevertheless he was amazingly twisted, especially his pencil trick. I was trying not to laugh, it was just perfect!

The more I think about it the more I think he could be an INTJ or ENTJ. He strikes me much more as an Fi guy instead of Fe and he may have said that he's not a "schemer" and that he just does things but are you going to take the word of a madman? He's obviously a master planner, whatever that says about J/P.

I TOTALLY agree with that observation. If only folks knew how completely twisted we can be.... :devilish:

I think Morgan Freeman is an INFJ (I also agree on Fox being an INTJ). Yeah, Bale is most likely an INTJ. I know this is very sad but I found him even more badass than before when I found out he got arrested for verbal assault.
Yep, I gotta' love those bad boys, haha.

Joker is an ENTP.
Holy freaking yes. I was thinking throughout the entire movie how if my mind were to break, the Joker could be me. His actions embodied all of my greatest and worst qualities amplified tenfold.
ENTPs can be extraordinary planners if the plan becomes their new toy. It's not so much about the planning, it's about doing something great for the sake of doing it.
Another note about ENTPs: Generally, we know our faults very well, and we laugh at them. We're not above improving ourselves, but we improve ourselves to the point at which we find ourselves sufficiently functional. As for any faults that remain, while we remain cognizant of their existence, we don't care so much- we can talk about them and view them objectively, and even joke about them without feeling guilty.
Taken to extremes, this applies to the Joker, who not only accepted his flaws, but let them play a part in his master plan.

I thought it was good but I didn't think it was as good as all my friends made it out to be.
It should have been called Batman: Saw 1 or Batman: Baldurs Gate 2.

The joker isn't INTJ...he's a psychopath. A rather intriguing psychopath and, at times, very funny, but at the same time you try to remind yourself that this is a very evil man killing innocent people.

My diagnosis for the Joker would be homicidal maniac.
Type? I'm not sure, but judging by the disjointure from reality and complete lack of humanitarian qualities, I would say NT.
Don't take this to mean that all NT's are homicidal maniacs.
I loved the dog comparison he used. "I'm like a dog chasing a car...I don't know what I'm going to do with it if I catch it...I just do."

I haven't bought a movie in awhile, but this one could be my last ever motion picture purchase. After The Dark Knight most other movies seem so bland and empty.

This movie was so awesome that I want to go see it again in theaters. And that never happens for me. Usually, if I deem a movie worthy of even watching twice, I'll just wait for it to come out on DVD and then rent it, but this is a movie where you almost need to be in the theater to get the full "wow" effect. I was pretty skeptical going into it, especially with all the hype surrounding Heath Ledger, but I was definitely impressed. This might sound kind of twisted, but I found myself rooting for both sides. I wanted Batman to prevail and restore peace to the city, but I also wanted the Joker to keep getting away so I could see what he'd come up with next. He was positively fascinating, and the way he worked was almost like a dark version of Jack Sparrow. And I loved the pencil trick, as gruesome as it was.

I saw it again today and he's an NF of some sort. NTs are primarily concerned with knowledge and competence. While the Joker is concerned with these things, he's far more concerned with identity and creativity as a thing in itself.

I was the only person in the theater to laugh, quite loud and sudden too. And right after it a woman took her kids out of the movie. Hey, it was funny. The problem is not with appreciating the humor, only someone who didn't understand the humor would have a problem.
