I'm an INTJ; I have just enough J for it to appear on all the online tests I've taken. The INT parts all appear to be very pronounced. I believe I took MBTI tests in school, but I don't recall what my type was then.

My youngest brother is also INTJ, and we both believe our father is INTJ as well. We haven't determined exactly what our mother and middle brother are. The middle brother is a lot like us, but has a more pronounced F side than we do, not sure if it's enough to make him an INFJ though. My mom may be ISFJ, but she's hard to decipher.

I don't feel like a completely typical INTJ, possibly because I seem to have far fewer interests, and thus far fewer areas of high knowledge, than others. I am usually a few thoughts ahead of my in-laws though.

Anyway, hello everyone!

Welcome to the forum! Wow, 3 INTJs in one family... I honestly don't know anyone in my family that has a personality anything like mine. I don't know how it happened.

That must have been an interesting house to grow up in.

I grew up with a father that said "Be careful" rather than "Don't do that" - this lead to a great deal of thinking about consequences before trying something. If he said "Be careful" he always had a reason, and we learned that quickly.

Welcome.

I'm with Firelie, that must have been a really cool house to grow up in.

Perhaps, but I have nothing to compare it to.

I've just come to the realization though, that I seek positive emotions more than knowledge. I prefer to do things that evoke positive feelings. This seems very odd for an INTJ, but perhaps I just don't know enough about the MBTI types.

As an INTJ parent, I can relate to telling my kids "Be careful" as opposed to "Don't do that"!

I do the same thing. I thought it was odd too, but since you do it as well, maybe it isn't.

*nod* I wonder if it's that we're trying to "turn up the volume" on emotions to see what all the fuss is about? A friend of mine has a very strong F and I am constantly curious about what happens in his head, and if it's more fun that what happens in mine.
