Minerals in hard water are usually not magnetic, so taping magnets to your water lines probably won't have any noticable effect. Even if they were magnetic, you'd quickly run into the problem of concentrated buildup of minerals inside the pipes where you put the magnets which would probably cause a much larger issue then hard water.

Right, blocked pipes. That obvious consequence was the either the first or second red flag. Did you check out one of the last sentences, where it says having magnets in your fridge will keep your food fresher...classic...:thumbsup:
