I just bought one of those little flashdrives and am completely lost as to how to put my iTunes library on it. Can someone help a technologically challenged person?

i don't know if there's a way to do it from itunes, but since you created your library from files on your hard drive, you could copy those files to your flash drive. or am i not understanding your question ?

depends on how big your flashdrive is. I highly doubt you can fit the entire library in there (unless you have only 200 songs).

Your library should be saved somewhere on your hard drive, just transfer it that way.

Are you trying to transfer your music to a new computer? If so you can simply do it through your ipod.

Although there are many other ways you can find through google, but this is the official apple one.

I believe that the default location is:

C:\Documents and Settings\WHATEVERNAMEISHERE\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

Highlight, right click, "copy", open up your new thumb drive from My Computer, Right click, "paste"

Yep, that's the default location for the Library file iTunes uses.

The problem with transferring that file with music is that the locations of the file will change, and therefore will not work unless you manually change them.

Are you talking the Library or the music itself? If it's the music, then Jaxx is correct. For the music, you'll need to get some software such as Anapod CopyGear : To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. This will work for music but I had issues with my 5.5g ipod in backing up photos since from the 5g to the 5.5+g, Apple changed the sector size on the hardrive in it from 512 to 2048 or IE by a factor of 4. So all the photos were "off" when it attempted to rip them from the unit; it would say it's ripping a given photo but it would actually rip something else. I don't know if Red Chair Software knows this but if I had the source code for the software I could fix it but there's no way they're going to give it to me as it's their bread-and-butter.
