Some friends and I are working on an independent digital movie and one of the songs we've recorded is given below.

Please tell me what you think. Its kinda pop but with very meaningful lyrics. Everything is original material.

Pretty good production quality. I really like the singer and the words, surprisingly. Very catchy.

It is, however, very 'poppy' and kind of makes me feel like I'm watching Dawson's Creek.

It's good. How did you record it?

The mix seemed kind of sloppy. The hi-hat is like, in my face lol. I can't really give any more criticism on the mix without knowing how it was recorded.

The melody and song itself are nice. Kind of poppy and regular but it is pretty good for what it's going for. Really good maybe. I like the voice, background vocals are nice too.

Was the song recorded for the movie or something? Or is it just a song?

It was recorded using Garage Band. I've always disliked the sound of the drums on garage band. The song was originally recorded for to gauage the talent of the singer, but we made the choice to use it for the movie as it suited the feel of the movie very well.

There we go, got it working. Sounds good! Drums are a bit too loud, but apart from that it's really cool.
