It looks as if the tables are turning this time in favor of ATi. Their Drivers have become open sourced for Linux (support is vastly improved in that area now) and performance is quiet close to Nvidia's rearchitectured G92 Core.
I personally will never spend more than $200 on a gpu as you know the market darastically changes for graphics in general.
I don't have to be a fanboy to have a preference, but I seriously love ATi even when their drivers did suck. (not the case anymore)
