I am still trying to get the concept of variants. The descriptions of some seem to coincide with certain wings. For example as an E9, so/sp=9W8 and sp/so=9w1. My wing is very low.

I seem similar to everyone else here, tilted towards having higher Self-Pres and Socal than most, but lower Sexual.

What can I say? I like people well enough, but I'm not drawn to intimacy in the least. I want to be me, don't want to lose who I am to someone else or need them to a pathetic degree. I seriously look down on people who get all pathetic, clingy, and wistful about the person from their past after moving on from a negative relationship, instead of focusing on the future and accepting the consolations of the people around them, the ones who should have priority. It's like they neglect all the beauty in the world and nurse/brood on their past, their chains, and their hurt. I don't understand that at all.

I'm not sure I agree completely with the makeup of the 'social' questions. It seemed to think that if you had some idea of what community meant, and were aware of what your standing was in the community, then you were a social animal. A better line of questioning would've probed the emphasis you place on your standing in the community, and how your community affects your life. Influence vs awareness, and they chose the wrong one for the questions.

I am not sure why you would equate Self Preservation with selfishness. Perhaps it means what you want to think it means. In fact, you got a fair Social score, so I don't see how you'd be selfish. Also, this test doesn't measure that. It's rather simplified, if you'll notice: there are only three categories.

It's interesting...the explanation says that Self-Pres is about maintaining your own "security, health, comfort, etc" but the questions are all about social priorities--measuring how much alone time you need. Not how you spend that time.

So Self-Pres seems to fall into an "other" category--the loner--which they then define as someone focused on their own "security, health, comfort." I'm not sure how they reach that conclusion. I guess they figure anyone who spends a lot of time alone must be spending it flossing and cocooning? But...why do they think that?
