I took this test in 10th grade English class (don't exactly remember why...) and scored as an INTJ. Not surprisingly, I was the only one. I have scored as such ever since. I have two main obsessions: knowledge and maturity (=enlightenment?)

I'm finishing up my third year at Univ. as a Graphic Design major. The hand-made only projects have demanded so much time of me that I had to quit my job and any going out (the latter of which was not affected very much, of course).

I speak English, Spanish, and have all but forgotten what years of French lessons have taught me. I started Japanese but have yet to continue it.

I have a lawyer-speak button that I like to turn on randomly to annoy certain EXFP's. I like wordplay and have a tendency to use alliteration "for fun."

There's a lot more to me, I'm sure, but I haven't the time to tell.

Awesome! Have you attained your degree yet?

No. :( I'm still plodding along in undergraduate studies.

yeah it's an uphill battle. Does your univ. have a junior/senior block system?

I assume they don't since I don't know what you're talking about.

But yes, it is an uphill battle. It doesn't help that I got the department advisor (aka slave-driver) for my first design class.

Consider yourself lucky then :( Over here, after you complete your fundamentals and some related arts/intermediates you must COMPETE in order to continue. I think it's ridiculous. If you get in, your last two years are spent in junior/senior block design class. It already takes us an average of 6 years to get the degree if we get in the first time, why would they hold us back longer??

Compete? I would've been out of that college so fast... lol

All we have to do is pass a sophomore portfolio review in order to get to the junior/senior level classes. Then again, I think even this is a bit silly...especially after you spend a couple of years taking graphic design classes. What happens if you don't pass the portfolio review? Well, you can take it again, but you'd have to wait until the same time next year. What if you never pass it? Well then you've wasted a few years of your life.

It would make more sense to me if they changed the grading systems in the classes so that you were graded on skill and creativity rather than attendance and homework (in addition to the first two), thereby bypassing the portfolio review entirely (since your grades would already be an indication of whether you were worthy of upper division classes) and letting you know from the first term whether or not you were going to make it in the graphic design program.

Yup that's the competition: portfolio review. It's not completely based on your work, but how it compares to the others (which is why I called it a competition). They actually said those words exactly.

I 100% agree with your grading system proposal! I would like to be aware if they are making me waste my time.

Though...perhaps wasting the time is the point. The longer you stay in school, the more money they make.. Hmm...

Yeah but that's assuming you're advancing each year. I don't want to spend 7+ years just tring to get a bachelor's :'(

lol I'll probably be around 7 years before I finally graduate. It wasn't the school's fault, though. I was just indecisive about what I wanted to study for 3 years...

Hi cielo,

When you mentioned when taking the test came out as the only INTJ in class. Your probably not the only one here. I had a good feeling that in my class; I am the only INTJ in class. Quite common this is happening, so don't be the odd one, just be you.

When the kids in my class started asking eachother about their results, I overheard a lot of "meeee too!" 's. Meanwhiles I was more interested in reading my description. When I saw the 1% note, I thought "ah, makes sense." MANY aspects of my childhood began to make sense, in fact lol I never really felt odd, if anything it made me feel unique ;D

When everyone was starting repling with each other, "Meee too!" You probably, saying to yourself, "Please pipe down!, well hello, there is still an INTJ in here who wants to read this very nice description in silence."

lol, I feel ya here, what I do is circle it or bold it. La la la, ok go home, remembered what my professor said, "There is rare personality type." Lol, in my mind, oh please me being rare, what's the chances, less than 1%. What do you know? Wow, I'm rare, ok this could be the reason why people don't understand me all the time. Well, actually I'd googled it. By the text, Rarity personality type. Then, type in INTJ. No one is gonna do it for you :(

Yeah! I researched MBTI do DEATH after I found this out hahaha :P
I have this weird feeling that the more I understand about myself, the more mature I become.

I don't want to scare you, but before you took the MBTI test, its natural your already matured. The MBTI research is just a checks-balance, just to make sure that your not heading to the nut house. You should check out the stupid idea thread, you will find more information about INTJ's. Many INTJ's are contributing their own thoughts/experience/jokes and whatever. I'd contributed too, but no more ideas, yet. Need more stuff to insert on the relationship, its kinda lonely area there.

I think, the only odd one's in my class or so called rare is INTJ's, INTP [professor-does makes people mad], ENTJ. Today my professor told everyone in class that I send a really long email because I had an great idea to use, as a problem to be solve. Which is poor commmunication skills? Since, he is very scarcastic, I did the same thing by saying right after he said, "you send me a really long email." In response, "Well, you know it was all fair that you also get some kind of homework too. Since, you give us some lovely crazy homework assignment; we're even now." He chuckled and laughed.

Just this year, got into the MBTI personality test, its so fun now. Before, I just blow it off, like it was nothing special.

Some people laughed at my anedote and some did not. Hey, its all fair, after you the one going through all the hoops. Lets give the professor a try, but in a professional and intellectual way. Be realisitic here, lol.

I have a lawyer-speak button that I like to turn on randomly to annoy certain EXFP's. I like wordplay and have a tendency to use alliteration "for fun."

Wow!! Someone else besides me who does this!

I've finally gotten to the point where I no longer point out the funny wordplay/alliteration/movie reference/whatever that the person I'm talking to just totally missed. It used to be good when someone "got it," now it's become humorous because they obviously DON'T "get it."

And on the extremely rare occasion that the person does get it...I am oh so happy....

the fact that you caught it has made me oh so happy. *;) I agree, I hate explaining wordplay and such to others that don't get it because then they suck the funny right out of it and I can't enjoy it anymore. But then again, it's alwasy nice to find someone who does to appreciate the humor *:)
