I'm quite a foodie and love trying out new recipes (this weekend I'm going to try to make my own sushi :3) and was wondering if anyone wanted to share.
One of my personal favorites is this easy pink sauce:
(It makes enough for 2 servings of pasta)
half a cup of heavy cream
two tablespoons of olive oil
a cup and a half of tomato sauce (crushed tomatoes work too, you just want to cook them down a bit before you add them to the cream)
oregano to taste (depends on whether or not the sauce you use already has)
a teaspoon of dried basil
Heat the oil in the pan and add the heavy cream. Wait for the cream to boil. Add in the tomato sauce and spices. Add the pasta. Simmer it. It will get thicker as it cooks with the starchy pasta. If you're not using it on pasta (it goes well on chicken) you can add a quarter teaspoon of corn starch to thicken it up quickly. The sauce tastes like a vodka sauce, but is cheaper and easier since you don't have to buy the alcohol and worry about cooking it out.
