Do you believe that Nessie exists?

Why or Why Not?

'Fraid not, nor do I believe in Big Foot or the Abominable Snowman. I think if there were any real merit to these folk tales, then there wouldn't still be any question or controversy about their existence.

Consider also how often we have found creatures that are truly unique, the only one's of it's kind. For my money we never have. Sure we find new species all the time, but they come in groups.

Sure it is possible that there is some form of deep water serpent that is the origin of the Loch Ness Monster, just look at the giant squid which was only postulated until recently. I just haven't seen enough god evidence to convince me of Nessie's existence. I'll defer to the scientific community for this one and leave Nessie as a Cryptid until some one gets me verifiable proof.

The monster of Loch-Ness exists as a good source of tourists and as a myth but it doesn't seem very likely that a single non-standard creature can be generated by such an abitat (wich instead seems ideal for seeing creatures that aren't there).

There is no Loch Ness Monster, but the Ogopogo lives in Lake Okanagan.

Sure. Why not?

There's plenty of things we've never seen before that exist in deep waters. Why not a great beast, too?

I'd be less surprised to find out a monster exists under those dark depths than a wolfman or even a Yeti.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

I believe in the Loch Ness Monster. I just hope that Japanese scientists don't explace-- place explosive detonators at the bottom of the lake to blow Nessie out of the water. If they did that, then Sir Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance would have to summon the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Yea. We can probably say that about a lot of things. I'm completely agnostic. Can't care less either. People's probably seen something that is not illusion, but hey, I'm not putting it past them. Heck. There should be such an option, else other agnostics can't vote.

I can vouch for that for all you doubters.

No. The habitat could not possibly support a creature anywhere near that size. There would be no food source, and with no way in or out of the Loch, Nessie's a gonner. There's a good reason that the largest animal living in the Loch is actually rather small.

I've certainly no reason to believe in a creature that was revealed to be a hoax (as if such revelation was necessary) by a deathbed confession.

I like the theory of the elephants. Supposedly there was a circus in that area when the sightings were first reported and it's been put forth that it might have been an elephant from that circus frolicking in the water. The townspeople of that era may have never seen an elephant before.
