the other one appears to be sponsored by paxil so I am not taking it. how can you trust a test that is sponsored by a drug to relieve what it's testing you for?

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. I got less than the halfway mark on the scale and it told me "You appear to be exhibiting some symptoms. You should talk to your health professional." ><

20 out of 68 on the social anxiety one.

Its a strange one this. Depends upon who is at the social event. If its my family I can get quite flustered sometimes. If anyone's seen the beginning of 'The Graduate' with Dustin Hoffman, it can be like that sometimes. Feeling very dizzy with heart racing.

Is that social anxiety or something else?

Oh come on. They're a big pharmaceutical company. They're just interested in helping people. ;)

I got an eight on the extraversion test, and a 28 or something on the Paxil test.

21/68 for social anxiety, and 40 for Sociability

According to your results you appear to be the type of person who enjoys socializing with both large and smaller, more intimate groups of people. You don’t mind being around big crowds, but that doesn’t mean you’ll want to crash every party you’re invited to. Having an active social life and extending your network of friends is relatively important to you, but it isn’t the most crucial thing. You’ve managed to strike a great balance between actively involving yourself in your larger social network, and spending some quality time with a few intimate friends. Although you may not always be the conversation-starter or the “life of the party”, you are generally a very outgoing individual, whether among friends or people you are less familiar with.

If a 40 is "very outgoing", how do they describe the people that score close to 100%?!?

50/100 on the sociability test.
28/68 on the social anxiety test.

I used to have social anxiety, but the last year or so I've been really putting myself out there and one fear after another is disappearing. The freedom, it is incredible! You have no idea how great it feels. Sure, I'm still an introvert, so after a week of socializing I'm completely drained and need 2 days for myself to recharge, but after that we go at it again. =)

But using Paxil tablets? Pfft. By taking Paxil CR as directed, patients may begin to feel better.

May feel better? Way to sell your product! Noone would buy a tv advertised that way ("may let you watch the 6 o clock news"), so why would anyone use their drugs? How about, solve it yourself and you will feel better. Therapists and drugs rarely releave psychological problems.* They do releave you from your money though..

79/100 for sociability:
According to your results you appear to be the type of person who enjoys socializing often, especially with large groups of people.

You likely have an extensive social network, and rarely pass up the opportunity to expand it even further. Having an active social life appears fairly important to you, so chances are that when the opportunity to go out with “the gang” arises, you’ll seldom turn it down.

Individuals who score similarly to you enjoy interacting with a variety of people, regardless if they’re friends or strangers. They are extremely people-oriented, are often described as the “life of the party” and tend to be exceptionally outgoing.

...and for the social phobia, i got 9/68, but apparently i might want to see my doctor about it too :)
Your score is not typical of a person suffering from social anxiety disorder. However, if your participation in this self test is due to concerns you may have about your overall well-being, we strongly encourage you to make an appointment with a qualified healthcare provider to discuss your feelings.
