The creature creator [a part of the game Spore] will be released on the 17th. This allows you incredible potential for creativity and expressing yourself through creating creatures. Just thought I'd share. It's awesome! :-)

Ive been waiting for this one with baited breath, almost as much as Duke Nukem Forever. But aparently spore REQUIRES an internet connection, and will not have single player, does anyone know if this is incorrect?

The game does have single player. The internet connection required thing was part of EA's attempt at introducing a phone home copy protection scheme, which met a great deal of outcry from the gaming community, and as far as I'm aware it has been scrapped. I could be wrong.
Spore reeks of over-hype to me (just like Black & White was, way back when). I'll reserve judgment for when it comes out.

Here's a slashdot article (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) about problems occurring with Mass Effect due to the limiting DRM imposed on it.
I don't know whether this 3 activations per license will be included with Spore, but it's food for thought.

*Kicks thread* Wake up!
so--now that it's out and you've used it awhile, what are your thoughts?

The game was extremely open-ended in terms of creating things. If you can imagine it, you can make it.
The gameplay, was a joke, however.
I've played through the game on hard. That being said, I also played as a carnivore, and chose war every possible time (except in the space stage where I got rocked when I did so.)
Basically, I played and beat the game in two days (as in got to the space stage, there is no end per se.) I got my ship fully upgraded after a week of play or so, led an armada of fully upgraded ships to the galaxy about ten times, and failed every try. It wasn't even close.
I barely even got a fourth of the way through before my fleet was utterly decimated...
Thus, I quit.
Goodbye Spore, sorry to see you could not live up to your awesome potential.

Just figured I'd belatedly quote myself here to say:
I TOLD YOU SO!
But nobody listened. :p
