or introverted Entp. I think I'm quite possibly an entp.

Maybe it's that INTJs are more certain that they're of type INTJ?

lul wut?
Really, the first aspect of the theory you should try and understand is J vs P. If you don't
understand what it means for someone to be one rather than the other (hint: it's not defined by
being organised, it's a bit more complex than that, though there is a relationship) then what
do you know about the theory? How do you know you're not ISTx or ENTx or INFJ or...?
Actually, I don't think that many people really have too good a grasp of the J vs P dichotomy.
There probably are quite a few IPs on here.

You could always read both descriptions and consider which seems to fit better for you. This site has quite good overviews and looks at a few different dimensions of each type - how they are in relationship, their work, their personal growth edges, strengths and areas of most driving importance to them: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. I think different situations / tasks can draw on different preferences. I find the forced choice thing frustrating in some tests, as several times I wanted to choose either 'neither' or 'depends'; the result does not pick up on the variability of expression of other preferences. I preferred the continuum based test for this reason, and am interested more in what % of each comes out of it, as this can reflect the degree an aspect of your type will dominate most situations vs those that won't.
Also there are forums for all other types. You could look in on the INTP one as well, to see if the conversation topics and the nature of the conversations draw you and make you feel at home?
Maybe too, just get a bit more aware of P and consider it in relation to J and reflect what is more like you across the board or from other people's perspectives / based on feedback. Here is something on it however there are other sources to explore as well: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Be very careful when comparing yourself to type descriptions. Being a particular type doesn't
mean you'll approach particular things in a single way, and I've seen quite a bit of justification
of actions on the basis that descriptions say that's what they type is like.

Even the more continuum based tests are going to get it wrong a lot of the time. Tets give
you a starting point for determining your type, but until you learn the theory properly you
probably won't be able to confidently self-determine your type.

I think this is a really good idea. Spend time on the various forums, and see, not just if the
topics interest you, but if you seem to take the same approach when thinking about the
topics there. If you pay attention to how different people approach topics, the Ti vs Ni
dichotomy will soon enough make itself very apparent.
However, do keep in mind that there will be a number of mistypes.
Basically: you won't know until you have an intuitive grasp both of Ni and of Ti.

I got Ni. I got Te.
Ti is harder to use than Ni.
Ne is harder to use than Te.
I got Fi, and Fe is harder to use.
I got Si and Se, but both are somewhat meh.
Se is slightly easier to access.

Which one of these would you find yourself saying:
A. Meh.
B. Muahahahahaha!

Couldn't you take one of those function-only tests? If you're Ni-Te-Fi it's probably obvious.
I know several people who scored INTx constantly getting 1% preference for J vs. P. It's just the way it is, I guess.

How do you know if your INTJ and not INTP?
The forum INTP's held and meeting and decided we were not taking any new members so you're INTJ by default.

If you aren't sure, you're a P!

lol. If you find yourself reading an abstract description of each and use that to decide, you're probably J. If you find yourself delving into the two types, the functions etc. and you are still not sure, most likely P.

I am a J and most definitely not a P
A Judger is someone who feels happy when a decision is made - they can move on then.
A Perceiver feels uncomfortable making a decision as it leaves them feeling as if they have closed all their options.
I can see both being useful - but I definitely don`t rest until a decision is made.

I know I am a J. I do something and I have no regrets.
You question your position and you earn a P spot.

So true. I knew this one guy in High School who I could best describe as an INTP mystic of sorts. Good man, but I could never understand him. This misunderstanding makes me wonder if I'm not a screwed up J, sometimes, lol.

I've often questioned this myself. The way I finally concluded I was an INTJ (albeit with a lower case "j") is checking out the some other forum and seeing which forum I connect with more. It was definitely this forum. INTJ forum tends to be more serious. INTP is less serious and the thread topics seem a bit more random and out there.

A judger is someone with a Pi and Je function as their main introversion/extraversion process,
a perceiver is someone with a Ji and Pe process as their main introversion/extraversion process.
Not being a good decision maker doesn't mean you're a P, ffs.

This is actually a good idea. I remember coming here and having the epiphany that I am in fact NOT the only person on Earth who was essentially like me. That is one way I know I am INTJ.

This. Pretty sure we've discussed the analysis paralysis thing in the psychology forum recently.
