I took the free enneagram test from Enneagram Institute online and it is really bugging me that my enneagram test has three ties between: 5 (Thinker) then 1 (Reformer) and 3 (Achiever), all of which I can identify with but how can this be?!?!?! Anyone have the same results? Anyone else have other ties? Are there better tests to take with a set number of questions that could perhaps keep from ties? In this case, I suppose the enneagram can find different dimensions of motivation BUT isn't there one underlying constant?

hmm... search for mbti with or plus enneagram in the online test forum. that's how i first found out my type. i'm a 3. i've been testing 5 lately i dunno why.

A test with an even number of questions may reveal a tie in a dichotomy, a test with a factor of 3 questions may yield a tie if 3 answers can be returned. There's no mystery, nothing of interest. If the test told you you were a walrus, would you believe it? Such things have the authority you give to them. Period.

There's a growing feeling that the individual has a chief fixation in each of the three centers of their personality (the so-called 'trifix'). The centers are Head (5,6,7), Gut (8,9,1) and Heart (2,3,4). Your scores would seem consistent with this, the question being where your core fixation actually lies, i.e. your so-called 'EnneaType'.

According to enneagram scrolls, an even distribution of scores is suggestive you're a 3, 6, or a 9. I don't know exactly why that is.

Enneagram concerns itself with motivations. Read the three descriptions and see which motivation fits you most.
