Cheers. I'm probably not an INTJ, but I still like them very much. I am more likely an INTP. I am interested in various natural phenomena. I enjoy coming up with very wacky ideas, and divergent thinking in general. I have a rather well developed visual-spatial thinking/learning style. I am quite messy. I have rather idiosyncratic and non-conformist views about pretty much anything. I am rather quirky. I found this website through INTPcentral. Well, I can't think of much else to say.

Welcome! We have several INTPs and borderline INTj/p members here so you should be right at home.

Then we'll have to change the name of the forum to "The INTJ/P forum" or "The INTx forum".
That'll mean jezebel will be up all night! *:'(

As it turns out, I am in fact an INTJ, and not an INTP. Well, I have nothing else to say, just clarifying this.

How did you decide that you are INTJ? Asking for the sake of gathering knowledge for others who are having trouble deciding.

The pattern of yor first post seemed more INTP then INTJ. Did you test as a strong J? Is it possible you shift from one to the other?
Whether you're a part-time INTP or just talk like one, welcome to the forum! Great to have you here.

I found that perhaps the best way to clarify the difference between INTJs and INTPs is to look at the situation from a purely functional perspective, since the J/P dichotomy can be rather imprecise. The reason why I previously believed myself to be an INTP is because my dominant Ni function overpowered (and still continues to do so) my auxiliary function, thus making it seem as if I were a P instead of a J.
The further one progresses in life, the harder it becomes to distinguish one's type, due to the gradual balancing of Jungian cognitive functions. Thus, often the best way to decide is to look in the reverse direction--one's childhood.
An INTP child will be very cold, stoic, and indifferent. It will not be yet clear as to whether or not he is ISTP or INTP, since his auxiliary function (either Se or Ne, respectively) will not yet have been fully clarified.
An INTJ child, on the other hand, will have a very strong Ni, thus possibly coming across as an INFJ, since it is not yet clear as to whether he prefers Fe or Te. He will spend most of his time daydreaming in his own imaginative world.
Another (yet perhaps less reliable) way is also to look at the enneagram and Oldham. More likely, an INTP will be a 5w6/Solitary, the archetype of the stoic scholar, who desires to be indifferent and impartial to the world around him. An INTJ, on the other hand, will more likely be a 5w4/Idiosyncratic, which although retaining the intellectualism and academic interests of 5, will have a more dramatic or personal flare. Unlike the 5w6/Solitary, the 5w4/Idiosyncratic is more interested in being unique and different, rather than being isolated.
Yet another way to look at it from a functional standpoint is to look at one's subconscious urges. According to an MBTICentral member, an INTP will instinctively gravitate towards quiet, peaceful, and emotionally supportive environments (inferior Fe). An INTJ, on the other hand, will gravitate towards very chaotic environments (inferior Se). Also, during times of stress, if one is an INTP, one will respond by a desire for emotional support, and may have frequent outbursts. Yet an INTJ will instead engage in repetitive and/or hedonistic actions, such as compulsive/impulsive behaviors, over-exercise, etc.
Indeed, my J is not very strong at all, since, for example, my room is very messy. However, unlike many Ps I tend to prefer to have a strong goal or plan in mind, rather than just going with the flow.
