If I didn't have to put in contact lenses everyday I would probably go for months without looking in the mirror. Is this because I'm an INTJ?

Good question. I only look in the mirror if I think there's something wrong.

I'm paranoid. I'm scared of looking into the mirror and seeing a ghost, or no reflection of myself. Then I look into the mirror to prove that things like that don't happen and my mind is playing tricks on me, then I look away fearing my face may distort into something incomprehensibly gruesome to imagine. Thats how far my paranoia and fear goes.

I'm actually the opposite, if I see a mirror or other reflective surface, I have to see myself in it. I'm not self absorbed, I just like to remember exactly what I look like.

The mirror I spend the most time looking into is the one in my telescope. Others... not so much.

I somehow don't like looking at my face and I don't appreciate if someone uploads a photo of me or tag me in facebook.

I do it mostly to pop zits. Maybe a little over a couple times a month. Sometimes I look into it while brushing my teeth, but it's because I'm spacing out not because I'm really looking at anything. Other than that, I rarely look in the mirror.
I don't really pay attention when I'm in front of a mirror. The only time I've ever paid attention to myself when I was in front of a mirror was when I was really baked. Then I would dance, and check myself out. It's also said that you can draw yourself better than anyone, because you look at yourself in the mirror so much. Which I never found to be true.
I look to see whether my clothes look good together before I leave the house, if I'm going somewhere where I care about how I look. Otherwise, I can go without mirrors. I can take out and put in contact lenses without a mirror.
So you all have beards? I always shave in front of a mirror. I look into the bathroom mirror when brushing my teeth etc.

I'm a woman, so no beard. I'd look in the mirror if I wanted to see whether something was stuck in my teeth, but I rarely look in the mirror to brush my teeth. I have TV/DVD players in my bathrooms, so I generally look at those when I brush. Sometimes I forget to comb my hair. But I have straight hair, so I can finger-comb later.

I am with Moriarty, when I think there's something wrong is the only time i look in the mirror other than when teeth brushing or putting my hair up or to see how much cat fur is stuck to me ( I think that falls into when i think there's something wrong category)

Same goes for me. Or I will look in the mirror to see my grimaces when I brush my teeth, whenever I do so. Sometimes I also look in the mirror to see if I did my braid ok. That's all. I have no particular reason to admire my face at all.

I do.
I'm a woman, so no beard.
Look up for Jennifer Miller. That's lot of androgens baby.

I have a theory about mirrors. I think whether you had one in your bedroom as a child has a massive effect on the development of your personality.
I never had a mirror until uni, when my dorm had a full length one. Didn't really use a mirror much till then. Didn't really see myself much till then, which makes me ponder whether that had some sort of solipsistic effect of sending me inside my own head. If you know what I mean?
Every morning when brushing, and once a week (for a while) when shaving.
I think it does have an effect on my psyche. Can't say anything accurately now.

That's interesting. Tell us more about your theory. Gogo reasoning progress.
I think that -as you say it- there might be some connection with the development of a child's personality and mirrors/ how much time the child actually spends seeing how he/she looks like.
It might be like masturbation, this one is a process by which you learn about your body. Mirrors (looking at how you, well, look) might have some similar effects to key areas like self-esteem and such.
Hey! You are supposed to reason your theory, not me!
So go on then. I am interested.

ALLLLLL the time. If I walk by a mirror, I have to look at my sexiness.

I've become more concerned about my look since a couple of years, so I look into the mirror more often than before.
I've realized that most people judge by the look (at least to some degree) so why not play on this?
