I wonder if they're going to hire senior citizens to welcome you to the hospital

Wal-mart is evil and always gets negative publicity from the bitter small companies it oppresses.
It would be just like them to donate a relatively small amount of money to gain some publicity and act humble about it.

Yep, yep...Wal-Mart in healthcare cannot be good. Much like Kaiser Permanente starting the whole HMO crap in the 80's.

This is coming from the poster child for the uninsured worker. I'm sure their "reccomendations" will be something along the line of "The reason healthcare has gotten so expensive is we treat too many people. Lets instead take their money, and then find some legal mumbo jumbo that prevents them from getting treatment. Anything can be considered a 'pre-exisiting condition' if you argue hard enough".

This is why I am seriously considering moving to Canada.

I've already seen this at many hospitals. It's good for senior citizens to have something to do. Plus, when their hips go out they are within easy reach of the ER. ;)

It's acutally not a bad idea. Walmart is the king of logistics and supply chain managment after all, I would think that healthcare could benifit from that expertise. I'm just hoping that they stop there and don't look at it as a way to "diversify buisness"

It's not like Wal-Mart is going to crush the mom and pop health care providers.
