View Full Version : Obnoxious INTJ vs Mature INTJ
Typical Obnoxious INTJ
INTJ is obviously the smartest, most unemotional, and independent type in existance. We are superior and will p00n all other. We will rule the world someday, just you wait! Succumb to our efficiency.
Typical Humble INTJ
IMHO all types are equal. Each type has their weaknesses and strengths, disadvantages and advantages. There is no superior type. I'm planning to become more well-rounded by coming out of my shell and leaving my comfort zone. :bucktooth:
----------
Both roles are getting quite boring and conformist. I'm unsatisfied! First I was the typical obnoxious (ignorant) INTJ, then I was the typical humble IxTJ, then I went back to obnoxious INTJ for the lulz, and now I just switch around depending on the tone of the topic.
Any recommendations for me?

Haha, so true.
For a while after discovering my type, I was thinking "This great! My type pwns!" Mainly it was exciting to have a substantive excuse for not being emotionally expressive, along with other typical INTJ "faults" (as seen by some others). So I was at first an obnoxious INTJ, as you put it.
A few months later, as my interest was renewed and I finally joined this forum, I rapidly learned much more about the other types. By the time I was a regular poster here, I had transitioned towards the "humble INTJ." I still am around there, but somehwere in-between the two. I was a bit surprised to see that INTJ's not only had "faults," they actually had faults (if you understand my meaning). So now I have taken on much more admiration for other types, necessarily reducing my high opinion of my own. I wish I had the work ethic of an ISTJ, the social skill of an ENTP, the extraordinary creativity common in INFP's, etc. Overall, I like being an INTJ; perhaps because I don't know who I would be if I was anything else. I want to hang onto my identity.
As for your case, it depends on whether you are actually thinking like each kind of INTJ or merely acting like it. If you are acting like it, I suggest you try doing away with any facade. Try to find what you actually are without pretenses.
If you are actually changing your thoughts accordingly, well...:scared:

Humble INTJ != Mature INTJ (IMHO)
The Humble INTJ persona is quite boring - too much humble pie there. The Mature INTJ persona is more like;
INTJ is the epitome of human behaviour, none is as insightful, knowledgable, well-reasoned and independant. However, other types do have their place in the order of things and I will tolerate - no, encourage their existence. Why? Because, without them I would be no more than average - with them I am vastly superior. I shall live among them in peace and harmony and teach them to treasure my presence - dolt-like slugs that they are.

Without the other types who would we be superior to? Who would we make fun of? The 'lesser' types make INTJ the awe inspiring type we are. Thank you one and all. I'm just providing an example of how humble we really are deep down. Thank you again.

ATo view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. you like us, you really like us. Ok enough with my ESFJ impersonation. There is something to be said for breaking out of some of the stereotypical behaviours of being an INTJ. And for me the goal as I mature as a human being is to be more well rounded, to be the best INTJ I can be, as it were. Being open with my emotions, we do have them, really, we just don't express them well. Working on not jumping to conclusions, being more spontaneous. That said, I also believe in accentuating the best of my INTJ qualities too.

INTJS ARE THE GREATEST TYPE EVER! INTJS ARE SMARTER FASTER STRONGER AND BETTER LOOKING THAN ALL OF THE OTHER TYPES
When I first got into mbti and had little understanding I thought the INTJ was the best type, but like others have, I noticed that other types are naturally better at stuff than us. So that humbled me a bit.

Yeah, that's right.

Same here, the Humble INTJ. Hey, someone has to be in this category to show that Intjs are not all Obnoxious. We have some varities within our own personalities to show for. If it's all the same, man it's like being in a movie: drone 1, 2, 3. Which one are you?

I could sell you the persona of Etienne du Champ, the chain-smoking Frenchman who doesn't believe in the passage of time. That could be an interesting one, eh? How's fifty bucks sound? No? Well, what else do I have here...? Let's see. I've also got Deimos Androktasiai. He's a violent, bloodthirsty, semi-psychotic Greek soldier who went awol about ten years ago and hasn't been seen in the same place twice since then. That could be pretty exciting, huh? Or if you'd rather stick with your own gender, I could sell you Clara Hendickson, the conversational one-hit-wonder. What she does is, she sits there, without saying more than two consecutive words for pretty much forever, then all of a sudden, she makes one amazingly profound and insightful statement, from out of nowhere, and then you don't hear her say anything for the next three weeks.

Personally I have no major objection to changing my gender for this specific purpose, I mean if I’m willing to change type and persona why not? Seeing the other side would be intriguing, I could learn first-hand what really is more important, beer, food or sex.
The Frenchman sounds suave, not believing in the passage of time could certainly be loads'a fun for me. Questions; Am I allowed to smoke in here? Can he be gay?
Deimos, hmm, I would certainly enjoy being mysterious. I’m not so sure about the bloodthirsty part but the semi-psychotic grabbed my attention. Not so sure that’s a huge change however and I would struggle with the Greek accent. Oh, and can he be gay?
Clara well! This would be the biggest challenge, limiting myself to one word conversations would stress me unnecessarily. I posted a one word answer yesterday and every time I saw it I was overwhelmed with frustration, it reached the point I could no longer handle it and had to go back and add more, sadly nothing profound. This one won’t work for me.
Now price. I’m not comfortable paying before sampling, if it works out you’ll receive money in full [this is false] or you’ll receive the full persona back in 3 days [this is doubtful].
Ah, I've got too much time on my hands, don't I?

Hmmm...personality sales. That sounds interesting. Perhaps I could insert myself into this as a Personality Broker - gathering together individuals with "excess" personalitites and brokering their sale or lease to individuals that wish to use them. I wonder what the markup would be?
ElstonGunn
06-04-2008, 08:11 AM
Modifying them voids their warranties, so you might want to wait until you're sure that you want them before doing that. Once you own them though, hey, you can do whatever you want with them.
A personality broker might make things more convenient. That sounds like it might be a good idea. Would it be worth the markup, though? Hmm...

What if I keep it modest (say 10-15%) and then make "real money" selling "accessories" (multiple personality logs, personality day-planners, a reminder service 'Who am I today?', things like that). What do you say?
Trinity, I'll give you 10% off your first personality as a special introductory offer.
Elfrun
06-04-2008, 09:32 AM
This sounds workable to me. Would I get a group discount if I purchased multiple personalities? You see I get bored easily and would need a few to keep myself entertained.
Also, I not comfortable hitting on chicks and would not be able to eat meat for any persona so please screen properly, I'd hate for any mishaps.

I have spent time trying to figure out the meaning of life. I believe that based on nature, the purpose is self improvement. Therefore I think that as INTJ's we need to learn to not believe in our own propaganda, learn to laugh and to trust and to love and to accept others. I think we need to get use to physical exercise and especially learn to start at the beginning when explaining to others why our ideas are already thought out and far superior to most anything else out there.

what?!? two of my best friends are ENFPs (and my farting, humping, squirrel-decapitating welfare cheat of cat (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. BUT totally erratic!!! absent-minded geniuses. maybe not typical ENFPs - they know how to gather and analyze massive amounts of data, use research methodologies, compare contrasting theories. good scholars... a little flighty to be the BEST teachers...
they are true ENFPs - everyone thinks L or H is their best friend, but L & H both would say they themselves have none! they are quite the people collectors (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.).

I get really sick of these people talking about how INTJs are unemotional, when it's simply not true. INTJs are intuitive, emotionally-driven creatures who deal with physical logic. And that's about it.
All types have their strengths, but you've got to admit that the way an INTJ's thought processes work is pretty powerful stuff. It's a good thing that there aren't too many of us or else we might overwhelm the rest of the population. I don't mean in terms of intelligence or efficiency, no, but in just strength of personality.

yeah, but can they admit? I find it hard to figure out what my emotions mean, but I know I have them, I admit it to other people, and I value them in themselves - and then I use Thinking to figure out what they mean! For other types, mainly NFs, it is more clear to them right away what feelings mean - no code-breaking required. Plus, I often have to consciously remember to communicate with emotions not just information.

It's not a problem of admitting that INTJ's have them. I think the majority of INTJ's would certainly admit to having them, they just don't let them run their decision making process, and prefer to keep them mostly to themselves and maybe a trusted few.
