Just an overall boring survey (with questions you probably answered elsewhere) for those working. People who don't work could reinterpret the questions for their preference of job.

What is your job?

How many hours a week do you work on average?

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into?

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting?

Overacheiver or underacheiver?

How much stress does your job give you?

Have you ever been a workaholic?

Is anyone a volunteer?

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.)

Are you the employee or the boss?

Are you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.)

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be? List however many things would have to be changed to make you feel comfortable.

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)?

How much time do you waste at work?

What is your job?

Convoy driver, U.S. Military.

How many hours a week do you work on average?

Anywhere from 0-90, depends on mission requirements.

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into?

My job is stable, but I would much rather work with diversity.

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting?

Sometimes it's the most boring job ever. Sometimes I wouldn't trade it for anything. I've seen/done things most people won't ever get a chance to.

Overacheiver or underacheiver?

Achiever

How much stress does your job give you?

A shit ton.

Have you ever been a workaholic?

When something that I deem important needs to get done, I will work tirelessly.

Is anyone a volunteer?

Ha.

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.)

Yes, often, driving for 16 straight hours in a tractor-trailer down shitty roads, whilst trying not to get blown up is a challenge.

Are you the employee or the boss?

Employee, I guess.

Are you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.)

I hate the cohabitation, and the expectation of always maintaining the status quo.

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be? List however many things would have to be changed to make you feel comfortable.

Leave me alone for more than 5 minutes.

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)?

Yes, they are one and the same.

How much time do you waste at work?

As much as I can get away with.

Just an overall boring survey (with questions you probably answered elsewhere) for those working. People who don't work could reinterpret the questions for their preference of job.

How many hours a week do you work on average?
Counting school and studying this summer, about 20 hours.

Overacheiver or underacheiver?

yeah- the job was around 10 hours a week 6 days a week.

Is anyone a volunteer?

What is your job? Market research for an engineering company

How many hours a week do you work on average? Not enough

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into? I'd like to work at the same company for fifty years, but not the same exact job. Between the two options here, I'd go with boring stability.

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting? Maybe a four or five. I like fun and interesting things, but I don't expect my job to entertain me.

Overacheiver or underacheiver? By whose standards?

How much stress does your job give you? Not all that much.

Have you ever been a workaholic? No.

Is anyone a volunteer? Not in any formal sense.

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.) I guess so.

Are you the employee or the boss? I'm still pretty much a grunt right now.

Are you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.) I've got a pretty comfortable chair.

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be? List however many things would have to be changed to make you feel comfortable. Maybe a newer chair? Mine is kind of wearing out.

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)? I work alone, so yes, I do have a lot of friends there. Outside of work, I have a few more who aren't myself.

How much time do you waste at work? Too much, I guess.

What is your job?
I'm an account executive/copywriter for a small advertising and marketing agency.

How many hours a week do you work on average?
40

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into?
I'd rather have one stable job I loved. But I tend to go for change ... I get restless after a year or so, especially once I've pulled all the knowledge/experience I can from the position.

My job fits into the "get me out of here NOW" category. I've been 2 years in the same position, with no hopes of a promotion (small company. few positions) and/or raise.

I've learned all I can learn from the position, and now it is time to move on before I stagnate.

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting?
My actual job? Only fun when I get to write copy that gets into ads, or help develop new concepts.

However, the crew I work with is outrageous. Our boss might be domineering, hypocritical, rude, pompous, ridiculous, and downright stupid sometimes, but I get along very well with all of my coworkers. They make work bearable.

Sometimes, we throw things at each other over our cubicle walls.

Overacheiver or underacheiver?
Stressed out, worn out, and newly apathetic overachiever. It just doesn't matter how hard I try, I don't get credit for my ideas or work, and, as a team effort, only what the boss wants to do gets done, so what's the point of trying to forge into new, challenging territory?

How much stress does your job give you?
4 months out of the year I have the most incredible stress, when my division is in busy season. 8 months out of the year, the stress is all inter-personal with the bosses, and intrapersonal with frustration.

Have you ever been a workaholic?
No. If anything, I'm too lazy.

Is anyone a volunteer?
I've volunteered for things on a occasion. Lately, I haven't. I just go home and crash, or hang out with friends.

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.)
Oh, if overcoming boredom is a challenge, then I am challenged to the MAX at the moment. :( Otherwise, barely at all. Like I've said already, I've milked the position for all it is worth. Everyone else on the team in a similar position (and even higher) is at least 4 years younger than me. It's time to be challenged by a mid-level position.

Are you the employee or the boss?
Employee. Wish I was the boss. I'd rather be. I would hire people smarter than me, who were superstars in their chosen field, listen to their advice, and let them have at it.

Are you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.)
Sure? I don't feel threatened by coworkers, I know that I can't be fired (I know too much and am depended on too much for those 4 months out of the year), and the actual work I do (when there is enough to keep me busy) is not unpleasant. I like my field, just not my job. And I don't EVER want to be an account executive again. Totally not my personality. ESTJs are good at this. I'm too creative.

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be?
More work to do. The agency needs to get more clients. Also, more autonomy to make decisions that will help the project, bigger budgets (to get things done properly), and a boss/team that actually listens to my ideas and uses them ... and then gives me proper credit, instead of handing everything off to another team member at the last minute to "edit" (and completely change).

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)?
Yes, and yes. Although my best work friend just quit and moved to another company.

How much time do you waste at work?
Entirely too much. I'm a slacker. But where's the motivation?

What is your job?
customer support in a company that pruduces industrial applications for material handling. Mostly managing dealer network and some troubleshooting with key-customers.

How many hours a week do you work on average?
exactly 37,5 as it says on my contract. Though some days can be 14 hours and others only few hours, depending on the situation.

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into?
I'd say that this is a steady job and I like it that way. Of course if a better opportunity arises, I consider switching job.

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting?
around 7, but interesting, which is most important to me in a job.

Overacheiver or underacheiver?
Overachiever I think. I'm still young and I'll have to proove that I'm competent.

How much stress does your job give you?
none, it's all about time-management.

Have you ever been a workaholic?
no. one of my basic values is that life comes first, then the job.

Is anyone a volunteer?
?

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.)
Well sometimes some customers are quite challenging as are the problem situations, but I think it's better than smooth sailing every day.

Are you the employee or the boss?
Employee, or rather technical supervisor, the hierarchy in my office is very relaxed and un-formal, and I like it.

Are you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.)
Working with other highly educated people, I like the atmosphere compared to factory floor.

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be? List however many things would have to be changed to make you feel comfortable.
If I'd only have better social skills.

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)?
I son't see my co-workers outside the office.

How much time do you waste at work?
A lot. I get the job done fast, but the contract says I have to do 37,5h/week, so I sit there 1-5 hours a day reading newspapers and filling crossword puzzles. Sometimes that can be frustrating.

What is your job?

College Admissions

How many hours a week do you work on average?

40-50

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into?

Um, I care most that I enjoy my job... so I am ok switching. I squirrel enough away to stay unemployed for a while.

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting?

1 being the best 10 being the worst I would say a 3. I can do either fun or interesting. interesting probably has a tad bit more weight.

Overacheiver or underacheiver?

Over :(

How much stress does your job give you?

Some. But dont all jobs? Nothing a walk or video games wont fix.

Have you ever been a workaholic?

Huh? I guess.

Is anyone a volunteer?

I bet some people are.

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.)

Yes. Interacting with people is a challenge, and that is my job.

Are you the employee or the boss?

Both, have people under me and over me.

Are you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.)

I guess I am usually comfortable. People make me uncomfortable sometimes.

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be? List however many things would have to be changed to make you feel comfortable.

Um, I wish I didnt have to answer the phone. Pretty soon I am switching to part of the office where I wont have to answer it.

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)?

I enjoy talking to some of the people I work with. It is hard to get to know me, and I would not say I have "friends" here yet. Just people I can go have an occasional beer with. I do have plenty of friends outside of work.

How much time do you waste at work?

Enough. My boss is happy with my performance, so I probably do not waste too much time.

What is your job?
IT Consultant - Information Assurance

How many hours a week do you work on average?

40, not allow overtime.. but 10+ with other clients, so I guess about 50. I do my best to avoid working on weekends, so that's mainly during the week with some exceptions of course...

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into?

Although I would like to be stable one day, currently I enjoy switching jobs as a consultant. Income may not be stable, but it increases with each new opportunity 5-10% all the time and I gain new skills from each job which to me is essential.

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting?

I love my job and that makes it fun for me so I have to give it a 10. My job should be challenging, and I prefer a family friendly environment. It doesn't have to b fun... but it cannot be null either, and it must be interesting.

Overacheiver or underacheiver?

Overachiever all the way...

How much stress does your job give you?

Well, with every good paying job there must be stress... It is mentally stressful for it requires a lot of thinking, and it requires communication with others quite a bit. Is certainly not an easy job, patience and deep understanding is a must.

Have you ever been a workaholic?

Hmm... good one. Of course I have being a workaholic although I'm trying to slow down. But just imagine, I've work since I was 15 and have only officially taken a total of let's say 4 months vacation, and maybe 2 years with no official job other than me just working on personal projects or part-time clients... so I think that says enough...

Is anyone a volunteer?

I rarely volunteer, but do not mind once in a while.

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.)

In every way you can imagine for it encompasses a mix of jobs in one pot.

Are you the employee or the boss?

For now I like to be the employee. I did the boss role once but I'm not much into it...way too much responsibility for others and although I could do it, I rather not

you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.)

I'm comfortable with the atmosphere, the co-workers, and my surroundings. After all I have a goal in mind and there is nothing stopping me from reaching it.

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be? List however many things would have to be changed to make you feel comfortable.

know more about programming languages.. Perl, VB.net, VB, C#, and ASP.net

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)?

I'm friendly with everyone, as I mention before at work I become an ENTJ... now outside of my work I don't really have many friends, they are rare and those that I consider friend tend to be ex-coworkers.

How much time do you waste at work?

Hmm... when I have no task assigned I literally ask for something to do, but sometimes there is nothing to do so I have no choice but to waste time...although that time tends to be wasted on learning something new or preparing for exams, so although is not directly useful to the job itself it still related to the work one way or another...:p

So maybe not much time is wasted on my side, I guess.

What is your job?
The subject of this query.

How many hours a week do you work on average?
More than I would like, but thanks to my creative punctuality around 39.
Wait, time actually working or time at work?

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into?
My job is questionably stable. Corporate recently decided to cut down a rather lean running IT dept and they are still deciding on how it should be structured.

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting?
With 10 being the high end of the scale I would give it a 2.5
My job preference would be either fun or interesting. I will gladly take either.

Overacheiver or underacheiver?
I would be an overacheiver in comparison to many of my coworkers.

How much stress does your job give you?
Far too much.

Have you ever been a workaholic?
As the term is frequently used yes. Have I ever been addicted to work? certainly not!

Is anyone a volunteer?
For what?

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.)
I am not allowed to strangle users. This is unfairly challenging to my abilities.

Are you the employee or the boss?
The former.

Are you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.)
No, too much human interaction.

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be? List however many things would have to be changed to make you feel comfortable.
Permissions to do what they expect us to.
If I didn't have to fight people in superior positions to get them to do their job would increase my productivity a great deal.

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)?
I have very few friends at all. There is no one at work I would consider to have such a title.
There are plenty of people I semi-willingly interact with on a regular basis. Does this count?

How much time do you waste at work?
Waste? I repurpose a good deal of time into other projects and diversions.

I'm changing careers. My job was a lot of fun over the years, but it became too easy. When it was funnest, it was a 10. When it started petering out, it was a 7. My preference has to be fun and challenging or I get bored.

I've overachieved but didn't set out to. Just plowing ahead.

My job was stressful, but I thrived on the stress. It involved deadlines down to the wire every day, but it was fun -- like running a mental race. It would've been a lot less fun without daily deadline pressure.

I can easily be a workaholic when the work is fun. Then it's not work.

I've done quite a bit of volunteer work.

I was a manager who actually did work, lol.

I was very comfortable at work -- communication, actual job, teamwork, everything.

I had lots of friends at work. I loved working with lots of smart people, even the ones I wouldn't want to hang around otherwise. I met many great people through work.

I wasted relatively little time at work, but I knew how to lighten the atmosphere.

What is your job?
Information Systems Design

How many hours a week do you work on average?
Officially about 40-50 but I'm starting to worry that I never actually stop....

Would you rather have one stable job or continuously switch jobs with no guarantee of a stable income? Which category does your job fall into?
Always looking for the next inefficient system to redesign - tend to move jobs when there's no big challenges left in the current one.

How fun is your job on a 1-10 scale? Does your job preference have to be fun or at least be interesting?
At the moment about a 7 - interesting is fun!

Overacheiver or underacheiver?
Overachiever (at work at least)

How much stress does your job give you?
Probably an average amount, but I guess it's relative to the individual. I get less stressed than I used to - something about getting older I guess.

Have you ever been a workaholic?
Yep.

Is anyone a volunteer?
No

Does your job challenge you in any way? (Note: having to overcome boredom is a challenge.)
Yes, but I've always tended to seek out the biggest, most screwed up thing in an organisation and then try and fix it (with mixed results).

Are you the employee or the boss?
Employee

Are you comfortable at work? (Specify exactly what you are comfortable with: communication, the actual job, teamwork, etc.)
I like having the idea and then working to make it happen. I'm in a good team - fortunately with people that do the communicating thing better than I do!

If you could change one thing to make you more productive, what would it be? List however many things would have to be changed to make you feel comfortable.
Less irrelevant crap to deal with so I can get on with realising my demonic vision of total systems efficiency! (and a bigger monitor)

Do you have friends at work? Do you have friends outside of your work (just for a reference point)?
I have friends at work but don't see them outside of work. Don't have any non-work friends.

How much time do you waste at work?
None.
