err.caps out of title
If I was applying for the job I wouldn't care.
We're getting so used to typing these days that we can probably take a test in whichever mindset to get whichever result we want. ;D
I don't think they're going to come up with a good enough test to fool us.
But to be serious... what type do think would be a good employee?

i'm not hiring a specific type actually but just for the sake of knowing the temperament of the applicant so incase he/she would be hired, we would know how he/she will be working... worst case if she fucks up, troubleshooting won't be that difficult.
what would suck in this part of my job would be counseling. i do wish i don't get any bf/gf issues lol... tendency for me would be to doodle on his/her paper
:edit: and oh yeah, you're right on that one, they might answer something that according to them is more favorable and get an intj result... lol joke

Yeah... well it makes sense (I still say don't hire F's... XD)
Counseling really depends on how stupid the person is. Sometimes when the problems are genuine problems and not just stupid fuck-ups that they can't 'get over' it's not that bad.

lol... i just hope they won't bring up issues to get attention...an f girl i know quit from her work because she was heartbroken.. wtf
i'm gonna experiment for the next 10 applicants... so far i got an in(t/f)j. i do hope it turns out good. if everyone's gonna get intj, there's something wrong ... i think lol... to be honest, company-favorable personalities are from intj -- not noisy, always busy, good at planning, beats deadlines, etc... so i won't wonder if they screw up the exam and everyone's gonna be an intj lol joke

I hope you don't mind me providing my two cents worth, as someone who has had to do a lot of interviewing/hiring.
For system design/build and trouble-shooting - INTJs. *They are great brain-stormers; can think outside the box; get things done; and are not needy
For implementing large projects - ISTJs. *They maintain all the details; are very good problems solvers; and have a little more social appitude than the INTJs, which is needed when working with customers on large projects
For training - ENFJ - they can stay on schedule; are very people oriented; are sensative to people who are having trouble learning; they are good marketers
For managing a group of unproductive ESFPs and ESFJs - I would hire an ESTJ or an ISTJ to get rid of the lazy, whiney, non-productive, pay-roll wasting ESFx types.

Interesting stuff to know. I don't think after I graduate from college, having too much trouble finding a job. I am friendly with people, take sarcasitic joke like the wind, I do the work [I forgot sometimes, INTJ thinks more than 1 thing at a time], enjoy quiet time.

Actually, I don't mind a company give me the Myer-brigg test, because I came out INTJ about 3x now. Either way, you test it out still I came out as a rarity type. As for your weakness, the emotional types crying about their gf/gf relationship. I can surpress it in my mind because its nothing different from someone who's going through life threathening cancer. So this would be my area of strength :) But, I found your comments first comment amusing.

My corporate experience has been that most companies don't have a clue how to make best use of the MBTI types, especially INTJs. Once on the job, most bosses become terrified of INTJs.
As far as the b/f g/f crap. I've been a manager and supervisor in the technical, and retail areas. I preferred the technical areas because most of the folks were (or seemed to be NTs) so I could relate to, and rationalize their "problems".
Retail was a whole other world, too many E's and F's. It was hell! I spent most of my day listening to their never-ending sob stories! After every day I felt like I had been on Jerry Springer! What made these people think that I gave a damn?

Maybe, you give a dam because you listen to it, lol. Oh BTW, yeah I always wonder that question, so where do we put INTJ's to work. Still wondering about this question. Well, I guess one thing for sure, our INTJ's are good to adapt to most environments then most other personality types. Why is that, well the fact is that the world is changing too quickly, so INTJ's $hit happens, ok move on.

Nope...I would "zone out". I only pretended to listen when , in my mind, I was figuring out what to do to meet the sales quota for the day.

lol, nice, get to the important stuff. So next time, when someone asked about the sales quota, then your the first person to speak up. Besides the others, who doesn't have a clue. Sales quota, whats that? I didn't know we got to get them today.
NEVER NEVER NEVER......
Employ someone because they are "hot"....
Same applies to getting flatmates (I think you call them room mates in the US)....
Nup.. Recipe for disaster I'm telling you... [smiley=bomb.gif]

zone out = screen saver mode? i can relate lol
@ mind_wander
i just can't stand it. just last week an exfx friend of mine was bawlering at me. no matter how i throw my objective retorts on her she won't budge. i think she needs a straight jacket.
@ GOD
don't worry. as part of my intj ego, i want to be the only sizzling gurl here. joke... won't do that ever. injustice. well in relation to your idea, our boss was kinda picky and would prefer only female applicants. i am currently in the process of making my objective evaluation of the applicants yesterday. attached will be their mbti's and the LABOR CODE (don't ask why)
@xtremegeek
thanks for the ideas. since you're quite experienced on this one, i might ask you from time to time. is it ok with you?

Response:
When you mean bawlering, what exactly do you mean. Throwing emotional tantrums at you. Normally, if someone is so emotional. Your job is sit and listen to it. Yeah, mute it in and out, but not the extent. Then, start inputting your suggestions, NOT during when she/he is talking. Kinda like wait your turn to speak thing. For me, its kinda hard when waiting to speak. But, be patient, once you are very patient they respect you so well, then start putting out suggestions. Always emphasize that I'm just suggesting in these terms, but not implement them. If you say it like that, then they get less irritate you. Our INTJ natural trait is like to fix things up.
I'm not sure that MBTI type analysis is that great for "lower?" level roles. Basic exams, personality and some form of useful reference probably work better. You would be surprised at how useful a short IQ test (Word comprehension + math in a time pressure environ) catches out those "E's" that do well in the Interview.
I'd sort of think an ESTJ would be ideal.

Empirically, of all the variables associated with workplace performance, psychometric testing is the best for any complex job.
If the job is simple - eg "do whatever I say" - then you're better off dealing with someone dumb, diligent and submissive. Try any ESxJ's who score, say, under 100 on an IQ test.
If you hire people who's IQs are in excess of 120 and your IQ is below this level...well I won't comment on this because the end result should be obvious.
