Quick question for university students out there:
Anybody else heard of Golden Key International Honour Society?

I've gotten quite a few invitations from them and need to know if anybody else has any experience with this group. I'm sure it's guaranteed resume eye candy, but it comes at a (one time) cost of $70 US. Worth it?

I'd guess it's like Who's Who. Pay to be included. The HR people i know are not too impressed with this sort of thing after the first job, but for a first job from college, it shows motivation to show something Debate club would be more useful, I think.

Actually, Golden Key is more like the college version of the National Honor Society in high school. I was invited and accepted. The processing fee sounds like it's gone up a bit, but that seems to be the case all around these days.

Regardless of the price change, was it worth it to you?

Yes, but all of them were personal reasons. My family was not very supportive of me as I went through school, as they did not approve of my relationships. They even went so far as to tell the rest of my family that I would never finish. So it was nice to have all the regalia that goes along with Golden Key, Sigma Pi Sigma, and cumme laude at the graduation. The money for that was totally worth it.
It probably didn't hurt on the resume. I did get the first job I applied for...and the one I wanted. But I suspect that was more about networking than anything else.
