This is just for fun.
I was interested to know what kind of posters you had/have in your room and why you choose them.
Are they just for fun? or art? or something else entirely?
When I was a child back in the 60's and 70's I can clearly remember the Farrah Fawcet poster on the wall. I don't know who got it for me.
I remember the first poster I actually got for myself was of Shaun Cassidy he was in a T.V. program called The Hardy Boys based on the books. I had a crush on him so bad, I think I left the Farrah one up so no one would know.

I used to have a Star Wars KotOR poster above my bead-but that was only because my dad wanted me to put stuff up.

I have a cloth dragon poster and a poster with unicorns on it.
My whole room is... a shockingly unexpected sight to anyone who knows me well.

it drives my g/f crazy that i have just plain walls
but i do have a dry maker board up to take notes and such, if that counts
i'm just a plain person
i've never had posters except when i was like 10-11 and there were Playboy posters all over my room
A Harry Potter one which looked like it went through a shredder (after I was done with it).

Quite simply none, apart from a large blue cloth (with celtic designs on it) hanging on a wall in my bedroom. Im intending to get some of the Deep Field astronomy pics made into a poster at some point, when i have more cash. In an ideal world I would have plenty of large LCD Pictureframes around the place, or some color changing paint with a controller rigged to my pc. Wish you could buy this stuff right now,but I guess it will be a few years.
If theres one thing I hate about decor in this country, it is the vast majority of mind numblingly boring and depressing color choices for painted walls. Pastel pastel and cream everywhere, its just not fair.

these are pictures from my room in my old apartment, before my boyfriend and i moved in together, he thought my posters were tacky and didn't want me to hang them up in our new apartment. :(

I'm going to be a hypocrite for saying this, but beverages near your computer is not a good idea!
Okay, I'll stop being a hypocrite (I once spilled Mountain Dew on my keyboard -- luckily it was diet so it didn't get all sticky).

I had music posters (all new wave) up until I was 17 or so. Since then I've amassed a collection of art of various sorts. I have a few prints but most of it is actual art. the prints all tend to be night scenes, black and white, art nouveau in styling. I have moved a lot so it takes awhile for things to be hung. Out of the 30-40 works of art I currently own only two or so are hung. most of my objects de art are also not out. I guess i am waiting to buy at this point. I am very tired of assembling shelves and taking them down again a year later. this is the only thing of note I have hung at this point ( and that's only because it's SO large, it takes up too much space anywhere other than on a wall)

A few paintings by Mark Spain. I've been obsessed with his style since I first saw posters of his work at the campus poster fair

One of Georges Meis' photos of Greece. They're just splendid photos of a splendid place. I'd have more if I could afford to splurge on more of Santorini.

One or two posters of anime artwork from earlier days... back when the artwork was actually nice.

There's one of Johnny Depp hanging around somewhere. Because he always makes great pictures... and he's definitely looking better with age. It started out as an attempt to be a little more normal in dorm... but they really grew on me, so I kept them.

Some artistic photographic posters of European cafes. Because spending my afternoons sitting at a cafe patio on an European street is my idea of a good time.
Photographs of other random things/scenery/landmarks/people.
Random pieces with photographs/paintings of wolves/horses/dogs&cats. I just like animals...
V for Vendetta movie poster. Because it was a cool movie despite how naive/idealistic it is.

My old room had posters of fancy cars and musicians. Since I moved out I just have one poster of eminem in 8 mile, black and white style. All I need for posters.

YEAH! They're so great! I need to get them framed so I don't ruin them when I move.
I wanted to get The Courtyard for my door... I can't remember why I didn't get it :undecided:
art nouveau in styling.
:cheesy: COOL!
I prefer Art Deco myself, but art nouveau is just as awesome.

I had a poster of birds. With an actual color, it suited my empty white room. I took it down because it was frightening at night. Those beady eyes watching me... not something you'd want to see when you are trying to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Do books stacked everywhere count? =)
I've never really had my room as "my" space, so I don't have much in it except my books. I suppose I used to have a picture of Tyler Hamilton (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) at one point

A Body Worlds poster(the one where it shows just the veins, its the lady sitting down with her hand on the head of another only-vein head thingy. Really cool to see in person :)), a dragon poster, and a couple pictures. I would have more except I took down some posters recently for various reasons and haven't put em back up =D

In my living room, I have Abraham Lincoln in Dalivision. I have a wallscroll of Dir en Grey in the hall and I have two framed posters of Kagrra and Hikaru Utada. I have wallscrolls of Rurouni Kenshin, Lain, and Naruto posted in my Den. In my office, I have posters of Rain, Se7en, Bae Yong Joon, Star Wars, and Wonderful Days. Also, two Hikaru No Go wallscrolls.
I will probably go through an art change in the future once I start re-decorating my home. I don't know. I like a lot different art styles.
