The future is here the world has reached zero population growth, mankind has colonies on the Moon, Mars, and Io, space habitats orbit the Earth. All industry has been moved deep underground as well as most cities, a few under the oceans. Zero pollution and the surface has been returned to an agrarian paradise, food for all.

Your city is now paperless the libraries are chips and holograms in the lobby of the library sets a pedestal on it is a book the only example of the printed media in the library.

What book would you place on display? Would it be the collected works of a favorite poet? Would it be an example of a religious nature? Which author would you choose?

What would your personal choice be?

Well, I could say the Bible. It's a diverse work of writing with many styles and perspectives in it. It's also meaningful.

I could also say the collected works of Douglas Adams, because it's quirky, weird, and makes me laugh.

I love the Adams choice shows a great sense of humor.
I think that several will choose a bible maybe that Gutenburg one.

For me I'm having a hard time choosing between Green Eggs and Ham (Dr. S), or A Confederacy Of Dunces (JK Toole)

The one is a great work from my childhood, the other a fine example of comedy.

This is hard; the Bible, the complete works of Shakespeare, etc. are the obvious contenders. However, I never intend to be obvious so I would want to pick something more unusual, but also a book with a decent claim to the honour. Probably something like the first ever psychological novel, The Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu.

Book of Kells

Good choice.

PRINCIPIA DISCORDIA, Dosen't work as well on a screen.

Hilarious choice.

:irked: English is a crappy language.

Is that your choice so people could spit on it?

The Oxford English Dictionary.

I like that one. I never even thought of that.

My choice was based on my wanting to show man has a fun side and need not always be serious.

In that case, Calvin and Hobbes. A full collection would be nice.
