How many do you have an iPhone? Just wondering...
As I am thinking of getting one after moving to the US.
How satisfactory are the performances?

I have an iPhone.
I don't really talk on the phone much....
However, it drops calls a lot more (2-3 times) than any phone I had on Verizon (which never dropped).
The iPhone is, without a doubt, the best designed UI experience on any phone I've ever seen. The features etc... there's other phones that are superior... however, none of them have a user experience that even comes close.

I have an 8GB iPhone, unlocked with ZiPhone. It has got the best interface by far of any phone I've used. I'm very happy with it, though I can't wait for the 3rd party app support and firmware 2.0 in order to remove some of the existing limitations (e.g. being able to conveniently and easily store PDFs, DOC files etc on the iPhone and read them).
Wait for the 3G iPhone to come out in a month or so, it will rock.

I would like to demo one at least but I am afraid I would end up being tempted to buy it and I have other things I need to spend my money on. hehe

I don't, but my brother and his girlfriend do and I play with theirs sometimes. It's really not that wonderful. Sometimes when we're out and about, like at a restaurant or some place, the internet doesn't work or it's maddeningly slow. The quality of the pictures aren't that great unless they're really compressed and I don't think you can edit them other than cropping them and then "setting" them. You can't receive pictures from other people through instant messenger programs. You can't use regular music/songs as ring tones either because you have to convert them (and that costs money, I think).
Once I tried to text "hi" to myself and it came out as "hoop." Okay, okay, that was my fault because my fingers were all over the place. I prefer the little keyboards like on the Blackberry--I don't have to press the backspace as often as when I input text on the iPhone. It doesn't seem to have the feature in the address book where I can type in the initials of a contact to retrieve their contact information like on most phones; I have to look at the tiny alphabet on the side and press on the specific letter with my big fingers (and most of the time I mess up and press on the wrong letter) and do some scrolling, which is irritating especially when there's a lot of contacts under the same letter.
They also don't come in any colors other than black. That may not be a problem for most people, but when you have two people with the same phone it's annoying to have to look at the desktop picture to see whose phone it is.
The map feature is nice, but it's not that impressive to me since we already have navigators in our cars. I guess if you enjoy watching videos on YouTube and listening to music, the iPhone would come in handy so you don't have to carry an MP3 player or an iPod.
Overall, it's not life changing, but it's not a bad phone either if you ignore all the little flaws.

I don't feel like selling one of my kidneys to get one of those things, I'm happy with my cell phone.

The iPhone is too big, for me. Size is like the number one factor with phones, for me. If they came out with an iPhone nano, I would probably buy it instantly. Also, it needs to have that vibration technology* built in to supplement the lack of tactile feedback.
* there was an article floating around some time ago that mentioned that if the surface of a device vibrates shortly after (within a tight time window) the user touches a virtual "button" on that surface, the user's brain will interpret that as like a button push, or a reaction to a button. neat

I would have verizon reconfigure your account. I have had that problem in the past and would have to call T-Mobile who would check my service and modify it. Those guys put in new towers all of the time and with so many user accounts they only reconfigure them at the consumer's request.

iPhone (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)If I want to surf the web, I go to my computer. If I want to listen to music, I go to my computer. My cell phone is a practical necessity to answer calls. Everyone has given responses that pretty much cover why I would find iPhones useless, too expensive, too bulky and it's just overkill. But if you want to surf and listen to music, I guess it would be okay.
