"A volley of extremely witty but esoteric insults," to quote from INTJ Central (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.).

Just out of curiosity, if someone really annoys you, what kind of "witty buy esoteric insults" would you want to do?

If you didn't really insult someone yet, let's imagine, I know INTJ's have good imaginative qualities....

I structure my witty, esoteric insults individually for the intended target and occasion. Custom made, just for you.

LOL.

I don't think it's necessary to go through much effort to insult many people. A lot of them have insecurities that are so hair-trigger that they set themselves off. So wanting to insult someone can be as simple as observing him and saying: Wow, you're kind of tightly wound. Or, Hey, you seem to be insecure about XYZ.

A lot of people personalize things that aren't meant to be personalized. That's an ego / insecurity thing. It's actually kind of self-involved, like assuming that statements meant for general consumption are somehow targeted specifically at an individual.

The perfect witty but esoteric insult is one that all the smart people in the room "get" but it sails right over the head of your intended target, making it even funnier to the smart people.

Perhaps some joke that involves knowledge that most "smart people" know?

I think my insults are drifting towards 'metaphoric' insults.

Example: If someone who doesn't know any quantum mechanics bothers me, I feel like saying, "Hey, it's not above threshold frequency." I am not sure whether this really sounds like an 'insult' though. But I myself find it entertaining to see someone not getting my insult. This type of entertainment involves some kind of unique INTJ-ish arrogance.

Hehe.

You've reached the terminal velocity of my interest. We will probably never meet again.

Taylor-made insults! You must be perspicacious enough to see what kind of insults is best for someone...

Right, no more acceleration, no more interest.

Yes, but as mkay mentioned most people do a pretty good job of making it obvious.

And the interesting thing is that I realized that I happened to make a humour when TheEnlightenedOne pointed out 'for me.'

Insensitivity to spellings (which is rare for me) can create a humour. Interesting.

I usually don't insult people in front of them, and can't think of a situation where I really meant it (I do that jokingly, of course). I do remember insulting one of my teachers though. "He must have been freshly dug out of an Aztec grave as the ancient relic of incompetence."

I find that my humor is often facetious and very esoteric, so I rarely share it with anyone. Instead, I keep it in my head and...

Auto-pilot mode. One of the most efficient way to indirectly insult someone..

My dear ESFP brother is such a clueless dork. I absolutely adore him--and my INTJ dad and I have fun teasing him, because we can say something the other will get, and my ISFJ mom will get a minute afterwards, and the poor guy still has such a confused, clueless look on his face that I can't help laughing. And even better, we try to explain it to him, and he still just...doesn't get it.
That's the funnest kind of insult right there. ^.^
