Don't worry mama, Morty's hip!
Just remember *I'M* the captain of this ship...
So hang on tight and don't die of fright...
Captain Morty's gonna take you out of SIGHT!

Boogie!

Hell yeah! (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)

Aww right! (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)

Post the songs you're too embarrassed to admit you still love!

I am not embarrassed to admit any of the songs I like. If they were cheesy then they're cheesy now and I came to an acceptance of it long ago. I don't even know what those would be now.

Shame.. I has it not.

Shame? SHAME?! I don't know the meaning of the word!

But, Morty...does it have to be Rock? Can I heap disdain on my brow with;

MC Hammer - Hammertime (doncha just love parachute pants?)
Sly & The Family Stone - Dance to the Music (70's feel-good party music)
WAR - Lowrider (pseudo Latino beats)

But, if you insist on Rock then;

The Doobie Bros. - Listen to the Music (bouncy-bouncy)
George Thorogood - Bad to the Bone (must wear mirrored shades when playing this)
Meatloaf - Mississippi Queen (an air-drum favorite)
J. Geils Band - Detroit Breakdown (an anthem if I ever heard one)

Moriarty

Rwyatt, those are all winners in my book, and so are you!

rwyatt365
05-20-2008, 10:17 AM
If you like those, then how 'bout;

Tower of Power - What Is Hip? (definitive...)
Tuck & Patti - High-Heeled Blues (ladies, can you relate?)
Stones - Gimme Shelter (sang that song Mick, sang it!!)
Rick James - Ghetto Life (the Rick James manifesto, or "Why I'm A Dick")
Ren & Stimpy - Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! (need I say more?)

...Oh Morty, I feel a playlist comin' on!!

Moriarty
05-20-2008, 10:37 AM
Happy happy joy joy? I was with you until...oh hell...yeah I like that one too.

Playlist:

Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla (rawr)
The Clash - Rock the Casbah (ESPECIALLY if the Sharif don't like it)
Steely Dan - Hey Nineteen (cause I just can't relate anymore)
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way (cause sometimes emotional baggage goes platinum)
KISS - Within (cause Psycho Circus was, like, all that)

rwyatt365
05-20-2008, 10:40 AM
Oooo, me likee!

C'mon guys/gals - put your shame on display for the world to examine and criticize.

Or, are y'all a bunch 'o wimps!

Not even this one? (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)

But I don't like that one. it's tolerable but I'd never play it of my own accord. I didn't even like it at the time. Boys of summer I'll admit to from the same time period but it's a far superior song imho. Thriller? How about that, I'll admit to it and ebony and ivory. Anything michael jackson wrote does have a twinge of "it just ain't right" about it.

Motley Crue - Hell in High Heels (number one choice for naked Twister parties)

America - Ventura Highway (they didn't even sober up to write this one)

Toto - Roseanna (yes, Toto made the cut)

Jefferson Airplane - Miracles (I can almost smell the Jasmine when I play it)

At least all of this (well, most) is normal music. As long as you like it, it's cool, and there's no shame involved. It's worse to be addicted to some of the modern stuff.... like the Pokemon (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) theme song....

This should get points for being the vid with most close up shots of eyes and random fandom cleavage. Tricky stuff that, filming eyes of someone singing. They have to stand very very still, while looking like they rockin.

Well then, the ones I won't admit to? Not many really, because there are enough fans of classic rock at my school that I'm fine. Of the newer ones, there are more I won't admit to. Sigur Ros (not because I'm embarrassed about it, but people just don't "get" the music), the Goo Goo Dolls, Coldplay (again, not really embarrassed about it, but it's not worth dealing with people's reactions). I think that's it, mostly because no one's ever heard of a lot of the bands I like.

Michael died too soon. :(

I couldn't find a video but this one of my favorite songs by Michael because it features Bono too. It's a twofur.

Anyways, the song is set to Escaflowne footage.

Because I just bought a Vox Super Lynx Delux guitar, (1960s made in Italy)
I am more interested in early punk rock: The Ramones and the *** pistols(only a few safe non offensive songs) and a few others(Indi 103music), I use discretion of course, don't wana fall by the wayside.

It's cool how people who couldn't play the guitar, or sing created a new style of music.

I mean Steve Jones of the *** pistols, just picked up the guiar and 3 months later started playing and recording. Johnny and Steve are quoted as saying, "It's because you can't sing and I can't play the guitar that we became successful".

I like the way talented people profoundly change the style of music.

Cool songs written and performed by innovative, creative people: Beat on the brat, Anarchy in the UK etc.

I think I am going to put a band together!
