Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in May, not to be confused with Memorial Day which is celebrated on the last Monday of may.

AFD celebrates the combining of all military forces under one department the Department of Defense.

Memorial Day celebrates fallen or decorated soldiers.
