View Full Version : Just a little pissed off at Apple...

I recently found that my speaker doesn't fit with my new iPhone, as much as I enjoy the product. After watching the User Guide, they told us, in the face, that we should buy an adaptor from them if it doesn't fit. Nor does the radio adaptor from my old iPod Video work; it simply says the product is not compatible. Even the headphone is different. There are normally three grids on the receptor, but on the Apple one that came with the phone, it's four. Not to mention I won't be able to get a replacement from very many places; most just doesn't fit the design of the phone, which had the headset jack built in so deep that a precious few could find their way in.
It seems clear to me that they're using their design to sell their products.

Of course, that's apples business strategy. Since you're beginning your path towards computer geek creds with encryption and programming skills... why not buy a PC and learn Linux? Linux will play most of everything you need for the ipods and such.

I am using a PC. Macs are overrated anyway. So much just for the interface. I swear the iPhone, besides it's visual effects, is in no way superior to my old Nokia N91. And my old phone fell down two flights of stairs without a scratch and still functioning like a sturdy old machine it always was (it's not that old, and it costs about the same as iPhone. With voice command too and heaps of other functions I can't even begin to describe due to my lack of use. What a shame). Didn't even die on the spot as I picked it up and sent a text message to my friend right away. My dad has it now, and he's loving it. Now I realize I shouldn't have given up my Nokia; it's sturdy, it's cool, it has loads of functions with 4G of memory. Even more unfortunate that I didn't learn to appreciate it and kept it tucked in my drawers collecting dust most of the time, as I hate phones. I don't want to drop my iPhone even a meter to see what happens, and what's worse, you can't capture videos. You require 3rd party application for that. No games too! :( As much as it's made my typing much easier, if you're in it for the shiny new functions, turn back.

hahaha (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.), I know precisely what you're saying. I didn't need to learn through experience either. I hope china does not have this guy banned. But it's better to learn later than never. Enjoy.

I actually wouldn't mind an iPhone~ except I'm waiting for 3G technology to make it in in the US~
To tell the truth, what usually makes Apple products "so great" is how well it works. meaning, their stuff is less likely to break. Also, the high level of integration with other software, sometimes called "The Mac-Experience." The iPhone isn't as featured as it could be, but with it's level of integration with the usual Mac OSX software, it's pretty nice. Another plus is that it has a full web browser~ I think it's the only portable device with one (right?).
Lastly, the iPhone has recently been opened up to 3rd party developers. You can expect it to soon have more software than you can shake a stick at. I'm curious about the games that will use the accelerometer.
p.s.
the interface is damn nice! not to mention how it auto-magically parses out addresses and phone numbers in text.

a full web browser in a screen that small? i'd have migraines after attempting to use it. same reason i don't watch movies on the PSP. you hurt your eyes if you hold the screen close enough to your face to actually enjoy the movie.

Except that the restrictions are so tight, nobody wants to touch the SDK or bother trying

I haven't yet known an iPhone software that doesn't cost money.
