Hi all,
I really could use some help in here and references concerning breast cancer which already in metathesis phase. This is not for me, but someone close to me, I'll get too personal if I had to tell you, but later on I'll try to tell the story my self.
I really need every reference, alternative medicine and so on, with every chance that I could try.
Any of you experience this? what the end of the story (happy or sad one?)
Thanks in advance.

This will be my coldest reply ever, sorry for that.
Primary tumor size? Location? Metastatic location(s)? Genetic markers? I can dig into the hospital files for you, but I need more information first.
If she has estrogen receptor positive or progesterone receptor positive cancer, get her hormonal therapy.
If she has overexpressed HER2 protein, get her on trastuzumab.
If you already tried all the 'standard medicine' then apoptin is your best bet, if you can somehow get your hands on it.

This is quite controversial, and I think it is unlikely, but you might as well try it if conventional medicine fails.

location: right breast..
She had been through operation and chemotherapy twice, which on the first surgery her breast already taken all (i don't know the right sentences for this) metastatic at the same location as previously occurred and surge. they are appear as a little meat scattered all over...
i don't know anything about the genetic marker....
and really don't know about overexpressed HER2 protein...
Her doctor in singapore already tell us to get other alternative as we could, I think it's just another way he told us he has giving up or something...
thanks for the link, I'll try to read it first...

There are several potential causes for breast cancer. Of particular interest are mutant BRCA 1 and/or 2 and/or 3 genes, which ironically, are thought to be tumor supressor/dna repair genes when wild.

I'm going to assume that you mean "metastasis" instead of metathesis. If your loved one's breast cancer has metastasized then I'm sorry to hear that. Breast cancer often stays anchored and makes treatment much simpler.
Standard treatment tends, of course, to be chemotherapies and radiation therapy. I don't know about other treatments that are used to combat cancer, but a phrase you may want to research in conjunction with breast cancer is
"Complementary and Alternative Medicine"

Dr. Cullen at the University or Maryland Medical Center and their Breast Care Center are a great resource. If it's fast-spreading, that's actually easier to treat than slow spreading.
What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited ...
It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope,
It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot eat away at peace,
It cannot destroy confidence,
It cannot kill friendship,
It cannot shut out memories,
It cannot invade the soul,
it cannot reduce eternal life,
It cannot quench the spirit,
It cannot lessen the power
of the resurrection.

Yes, that's right metastasis...my mistake.
And that's true, at first the doctor only assume it as tumor, and lift up part of the tumor, then after biopsy, we know it's cancer, but already in phase 3 if I'm not wrong. 10 years before she has being through surgery, until it reoccurred again in 2006. then she going through twice surgery and chemo (2006, and late 2007).
considering she has been through twice in short period for chemotherapies, and the doctor has suggest us to search other alternative, then possibly the standard treatment had failed.
thank you for the information...

The problems with cancer treatments is that they're not cures. They only treat the symptoms primarily by attempting to kill all mitotic cells (unfortunately healthy cells, such as blood cells, skin cells, and liver cells still need to divide which is why people receiving cancer treatments tend to become so sick - their immune system is in the gutter).
The down side to this approach is that if even a single cancerous cell survives it can continue dividing and a few years later you have a sadly familiar problem.

Also, there is a documentary called Crazy, Sexy Cancer that might help you too.

Sorry to learn this...but you appear to have been a good friend to her. I think you should leave the thread as a memorial.
