I just mentioned this in my introduction thread and wandered if any of you did this too.

When someone says something that apears to be a joke I almost always play along as if they are serious. It can be a lot of fun if that person knows what you are doing but most of the time people dont get it and quickly say "man, I was joking" to which I promply respond with "ya, I know. I was playing along."

Honnestly, doing this is an attempt for me to always be right. In the past I thought someone was joking and made a comment I shouldn't have becuase they weren't joking. So now I always play along as if they were serious so I'm right if they really are (even though I think they are joking) and I'm right if they were joking because I was playing along.

Yeah, apparently, I am falling into this category. But in Da-forums, I am all out, thrashing other members for fun. At first, I thought these people were serious, later on other people did not take it personally. These people have a great open-mind about anything, so go with the flow and let it blow. The high percentage is mostly the P side kicking in to the extent of becoming limitless. When I first joined into the new forum, I managed easily get along with some members. After my online buddy taking the personality in why we can stand each other quite well; a no.3 spammer on the forum. The results cameout as a supervisor, great for me send out instructions and the supervisor go and do it :) Nice combination to know.

Oh, I play along like none other...I do it *all* the time. It's quite amusing.

The funny thing here is right after I posted this I read this in the *"I have a stupid idea... (INTJ Manual)" thread.

Interesting quote, Donald Rumsfield belong into the INTJ, so does that make Donalf Rumsfield ,US Secretary of Defense trying to my life better? Because his INTJ buddy General Colin Powell, US Secretary of State left office. Should I worry?
Too literal dude!

We're just having some INTJ-fun with the OP's topic - creating an INTJ Users Manual *;D
I meant it originally, as a joke, lol. Not sure, how many took it literally. Sorry.

What did you took it literally or as a joke? I have a good feeling like the majority of INTJ is going to yank out all my joke quotes. If you want too fine, we all can laugh it off.

when I first read it I thought "come on, chill out" but about a half second after that I realized you were an INTJ (should have taken that long to remeber that seeing as this is intjforum.com) and most likely joking.

My only male intj friend that is close to my age jokes like that all the time :) and our friends never catch on. It's so much fun.

lol, yeah well being an INTJ can fool your mind. Yeah, I was really joking. NOt sure, how many took it seriously. Everyone falls for the serious jokes, its up to you to sort it out in your head. INTJ jokes can be very tricky too. Not everyone can get INTJ's joke, unless you belong in a certain personality criteria. My professor who's INTP is really enjoying and tricking us with certain keywords, like less than 100 pgs, or whatever the due date is. For us J's, he knows this we loved due dates and deadlines. I got used to the jokes now, so I don't take it seriously. His meaning of less than 100 pgs. means between 10-15pgs, thats my second guess; I was correct. While others thought, what 100pgs, 50pgs, 20pgs., I'd just burst out laughing.

One of my roommates and I sometimes have horribly elaborate conversations that sound serious (and really, anyone listening in would probably be thinking "WTF?" the whole time) but are just complete blocks of sarcasm.

hehe - that reminds me - one of my tennis instructors and I are like that. We say some really...crazy? things if people thought we were serious....

Yep all the time. And sometimes refer back to them later.

why wouldn't someone refer back to them? The more confusion in those around you and/or people that think you is being serious, the more fun it is!
