I used to use Photoshop until my current OS wouldn't run my old version. Now I use GIMP and Inkscape in Linux.

What else are people using? Preferably in opensource.

online photo editor: http://pixlr.com/ (never used it myself, though)

I use Adobe Photoshop on a VM for Mac (Parallels).

I had the same problem and lost my use of PicPub. Very sad indeed. PicPub is great.

I tried Gimp and a few others but found I like Photo POS Pro best of the freebies.

Photoshop CS 3.

I tried Gimp, but I couldn't stand some differences and went back to the Adobe software.

I found GIMP tricky to start with as well, but have since discovered how to do everything with it, that I used to do with photoshop and it is free.

There is also a variation, I think it is called GIMPShop which is configured to be more recognisable to photoshop users.

One thing I have noticed with GIMP though is that it works much better on a Linux platform than on OSX.

I would be interested to hear anyones experience with Cinepaint. It's not supported on my Ubuntu platform, but I may set up another supported Linux platform in a virtualbox to try it sometime.

Photoshop (CS3)
Fireworks (CS5)
GIMP when on Linux

Eventually, I'd like to use a programming language to generate certain kinds of graphics.
