i just thought this thread would seem nice since intj's as per others' description, are stealthy, mercurial and arrogant people with a morbid sense of humor... also, we are known as strategists. so i'm starting this thread with all the intj-ness in our schemes...
how do you clean people?
here's one experience i'd like to share. in my *precious work, we had a supervisor (estp i think), a professional crook. he backstabs everyone and using his authority for his own selfish advantages. he cheats on time cards, steals company supplies, spreads gossip, etc... own work, he pretends to be knowledgeable on the software when he actually screws up everything to the point of deleting a million dollar account and when he did this mistake, he actually pointed his fingers at me and some other teammates coz we gave him the wrong info when in fact we're teaching him nothing. one time he was late for an hour and 30 he came to office cranky and was bawlering at the people who have been late constantly (including myself...i was only late once because of the storm) and says that we should be thank him for not terminating us coz not only are we late, we also slack off when in fact he set a quota on us when it should not be done in the first place while he's just on the phone making his personal calls for hours.
then came the company evaluation. we were also notified via email that there's an online evaluation so it was an option for us to take either of the two. just before we get to answer the evaluation sheet, our supervisor gave us chocolates and even cooked pasta for everyone which is strange. however, instead of succumbing to his telepathic request, i evaluated him as frankly as i can een indicating the instance that he said to some colleagues, "shut up b***"... then we submitted the papers to him. i knew he was gonna sneak into them. i made sure he'd recognize it was my handwriting so after 2 days, we had a one on one conversation:
what's on my mind
him: hi! i know you know that in this company heart to heart talks with superiors is encouraged. (really) i'm glad that you spared some time for this or are you busy? (no i'm not, you made sure i have a light load today)
me: i don't mind actually so what are we gonna talk about?
him: i admire you coz you're one of the best people in my time but then i don't get to know (coz i don't want to) you coz you're not joining us during lunch or in company outings... i want us to be friends
me: strange really? that's nice but not to hurt your feelings but i choose my friends.
him: oh come on! we're in one team. in my previous company i had developed a bond between me and me collegues (then why did you resign there?) i want to have the same atmosphere here but you're always so distant. i heard you're a rockstar and you don't care what you say about things... the type i actually want as a friend coz i'm lookign for someone who i can talk whatever...
me: uh huh ok... so what's the point?
him: i want to know you better... so how about you ask me a question then i'll answer then when you ran out of questions my turn... is that ok? (your fatal mistake... yes please)
me: uh ok... so what's you favorite color
*pointless retarded kindergarten questions... he's now irritated perfect*
him: ok i'll ask you a question now... so tell me somethign about yourself?
me: err does this really matter?
him: come on it's unfair i have answered your questions
me: well basically, i don't care what people say to me or what they think about me and i also don't care about what i say to people. if i don't like them, i tell them.
him: so umm ok so what do you don't like about me?
(tells him he's nonsensical... encyclopedic ... long story...)
him: (interferes on "you b***") i didn't say that?
me: yes you did... and others remember as well especially those who hated you remembers well.
him: so a lot of people in our team hate me?
me: isn't it obvious
him: all i know is a lot of people come to you for a chat... may i know who this people are?
me: why would i tell you? it's like betraying them. secrecy is a knife on the side and a choker on the neck.
him: come on... but i think i know them already... i just want to know their names
me: well if you know them already, why bother asking me their names? ... oh! the manager's calling you.
him: oh... it's time for the meeting. here's all the evaluation sheets, i want you have your team mates get them again annd to have them double checked...then keep them for a while ok? (and your point is??)]
me: ok.
i know he never meant to pass my paper with all the vulgarity so i modified my paper a bit so satisfy him... but then it was still a bit harmful... he was called... then he called me and the situation now is "it's better you resign or i fire you." i resigned and invented a lot of reasons... but then i made sure i had the online evaluation form as informative as possible... i do believe resigning from work is more noble than getting fired. so we're both out of the office... the difference is he was fired
