So my dear friend/men came back after being away for 7 months and got me addicted to the above cartoons... Now I find myself wasting my time watching them and the funny thing is that I actually enjoy them, but it annoys the hell out of me that I can be watching them up to 4AM sometimes, specially on the weekends...

According to him there are over 150+ episodes online.. and I've only watched up to episode 57....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... what to do with such addiction... outside of this board and now that is really eating my time away from other things....

All in all I seem to love both, this forum and those cartoons... but that's bad... I guess I should hurry up and finished the above videos...

Anyway, they are great...... don't blame me if you guys get addicted too...:p

Here is the link to the first episode..

Stop watching crappy shows, start watching Death Note, finish that (only like 37 episodes or something), realize Bleach isn't that great, throw it away in digust, there you're not addicted.

Watch to the end of the Soul Society arc, THEN watch Death Note. You can have your Hollow and kill it too.

Bleach has a great beginning, but quickly deteriorates; the latest episodes (it’s up to 165) are depressingly poor. I suggest you follow Cubedout’s advice and, after Death Note, watch some Texhnolyze. That will completely cure any addiction to Bleach.

Stop watching crappy shows, start watching Death Note
._.

Bleach is good through Soul Society. The manga has been picking up lately, but otherwise... eh. Death Note is good through the first arc, and then Light loses the death note for a while and things start to blow really hard.

If you're watching Adult Swim and want good anime, Code Geass begins airing on the 26th. Looks like they're going to start re-airing Paranoia Agent too, which is a must-see, and maybe they'll start up Stand Alone Complex again too.

watch some Texhnolyze
Enthusiastic second. Texhnolyze was awesome, though it puts seinen fans to sleep sometimes. Either way, absolutely brilliant, I have the DVDs and love re-watching them.

Texhnolyze was awesome, though it puts seinen fans to sleep sometimes.

Indeed; people judge Texhnolyze too harshly and too fast. Once you get through the meandering beginning (which I personally like) the absurdist aesthetic takes over and it gets more compelling. Also, the conclusion is one of the most poignant of any fiction I have encountered.

Agreed.
Bleach was good up until they get Rukia back and finish up. The Bounto stuff wasnt horrible, but not as good. And it all went down hill from there.
Death note for me until... well I dont want to spoil it. Lets just say until the first "battle" is resolved.
Berserk was great but leaves you hanging with a cut off ending
Claymore was great. A lot better than bleach. We are all praying it will get a second season... and that the boy grows some balls.
12 Kingdoms was ok, my wife liked it more than me. Though I watched them all too.
Noein is pretty good and has some science in it. I dont agree with the parallel quantum universe theory, but thats ok ;)

Those are the only ones that bubble up to the top when im trying to think of good animes. Im sure im neglecting something though. I think ive seen nearly every non harem non kiddy anime with a sub :/ im down to watching obscure ones now.

Death Note for sure will cure a BLEACH addiction. Paranoia Agent another must-see. Ghost in the Shell is a standard. And, if you're into one night stands, check out Kakurenbo (if you can find it) - the visuals are stunning.

Death Note is disappointing after XXXXXX happens. You will know immediately what I mean when it happens. STOP watching it at this point. :) It's more satisfying.

Or you could use your INTJ superwillpower to just say no. Can you handle it? Challenge yourself.

Thank YOU ALL for your replies... I guess I should try to get rid of my addiction to BLEACH but become addicted to some of the other choices you all provided..
hehehe...

Anyway, this two weeks are high because I must finished an application before my contract ends... that said I will be focusing my time to completing the application and keep away from BLEACH or the other suggestions for a while...

My INTJ side is back to normal.... focus on the plan to revolutionized a complicated process into a simple process that takes care of all the requirements without repetition...

Have seen all of the bolded ones. Some of them I havent seen in years though. I still rank claymore, berserk, and the first 1/2 or 3/4 of deathnote above them ;) . Personal preference what can I say.

I do have one amendment though. I liked kenichi a lot. Arg hard to remember them all. Oh and one named gi oh ohsei or something like that (The one about the genetically engineerd kid thrown on a prison planet). Ok I give up

Bleach is good. I'm on this other forum where they say this one thing constantly, and it bothers me because I think it's herd mentality, regardless of how true it may be. "Skip the filler."

I think there have been three arcs in Bleach so far. The Soul Society arc, the filler anime arc that had no mention in the manga, and the current arc. Personally, I like them all. Even if it's filler, I still get exposed to the same characters and more super powers. So, whatever.

Also, to anyone who saw the latest episode... They were all like ZOMG best animation ever. I guess I wasn't paying attention as much. Orohime was being useless again and Grimmjaw's release looked retarded. But yes I did appreciate the slightly more detailed animation quality and the general bad assery of Ichigo.

you could also try:
Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) - one of the best animes I've seen
Great Teacher Onizuka (must see)
any series of Gundam (Gundam Seed + Gundam Wing my favorites)

I don't get it. Aren't we supposed to help him stop watching anime entirely? Isn't this just making him addicted to something else? Though I guess once you enter that world, you have to claw your way out on your own...

Look at the bright side. Bleach doesn't have near as much filler as Naruto....

Ohhh... well I stop looking at cartoons lately and although the suggestions above are great, I've decided to just stay focus on what I really need to do right now and that is prepare myself for two major certifications important in my career and that I must complete this year in order to attain the income bracket I have planned by 2009.

I'm a little too ambitious and I must succeed at my goals. So far I'm ahead of the plans by having succeeded at getting the projected income for the 3rd/4th quarter on the 2nd quarter. That said I'm positive that my goals for 2009 will be met.

I still follow Bleach, however, I think that you should speed watch all your way through Bleach. Just get over your obsession the way I did. Now I'm only following the manga that comes out once a week. Take time, it will pass. :D

PRBori, I realize we aren't exactly helping you get over your addiction, but Trigun must be added to the list.

As for getting over Bleach your best bet is reading the mangas, problem is it's an ongoing series and there's a new one to read every week. Or if you're like most of the people I know, you'll get bored of it once it reaches the Bounto filler arc. For the record, I like the Bounto arc (even if it was a bit drawn out).

First of all, they're not 'cartoons'. They are Japanese Anime. Cartoons are crappier than anime TV shows. But there are tons of crappy animes anyway (e.g. Naruto, Bleach, Vampire+holic, etc.).

My Recommendations:
- Gintama (I'm sure this can cure the Bleach addiction)
- Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (The first 20 episodes are childish but it's worth it)
- Death Note (What's your name? I'll write it down on my notebook....)
- Samurai Champloo (I like the drawings)
- Full Metal Alchemist
- Code Geass and Code Geass R2
- Elfen Lied (This is the first TV show that made me cry....a little bit)
- Serial Experiments Lain
- Mushishi (This can bore you but its also worth it, the manga is even cooler)
- D.Gray-man
- Paranoia Agent
- Monster

I'm not usually a fan of anime, but the ones bolded were good. Also, I recommend watching Cowboy Bebop and reading Eden: It's an Endless World (Link here) (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.(manga)).

Death Note ending spoiler READ ONLY IF YOU'VE FINISHED the manga or anime:

They modified the ending too much in the anime for my taste with Light running out of the warehouse like a crazed dog. It was much more poetically "full circle" for Ryuk to write Light's name in the Death Note and show it to him. The anime final episode left me feeling a little empty. They didn't really need the epilogue manga chapter, but I thought it was a good question to ask if Near had used the Death Note to control Mikami's demise.

Serial Experiments Lain is my personal favorite. I went nuts for a while when I could only find the first 4 episodes online. But luckily a friend of mine owns it. I'm all better now.

I'll pick Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Big O, and Nausicaa to be the best of those (I haven't seen Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi but I think it'd be great too). Other great ones I can think of now would be EVA, Revoluntionary Girl Utena, Infinite Ryvius,Karekano,Paranoia Agent,HareGuu, Honey and Clover, Denno Coil.

For Nausicca and Berserk, the manga is much better than anime, so It's better to read the manga first.
