Do you think there's a relationship between a persons type and the overall importance/pursuit/enjoyment of sex? It has always appeared to me that xxfp's are the most driven in this arena?

Do you mean sex in and of itself or sex as part of a loving relationship?

I would say so. I think that a person's type would probably have a direct bearing on how they pursue sex as well as how they enjoy sex. Sensors probably enjoy the physical side of sex more while Intuitors enjoy the mental side of it. Thinkers probably enjoy the strategic side of sex more while Feelers probably enjoy the emotional connection. Extraverts probably pursue sex more openly or aggressively (in terms of timing--I don't mean physically) while Introverts are more cautious or timid or likely to take their time. Judgers are more likely to have an idea how the sex should play out (they bring the condoms), where Perceivers are more likely to just go with the flow (they "forgot" the condoms). These are not absolutes, but just degrees on a continuum.

Of course these are gross generalizations and they're probably bunk. Cognitive functions would probably be a better way of understanding how a particular type would go about sexing someone up...

You might be on to something, Mogura, even though those are grand generalizations. I'm more inclined to agree with you than with Sunlover's idea that XXFPs are the most driven to pursue or enjoy sex because from what I've heard and read and know from my own experience XNFPs (women at least) tend to want an emotional connection with sex, not just sex for the physical sensation alone. I don't know about XSFPs.

Let me see....

Sex Drive - off the charts
Importance - right up there with food and water but only as part of a committed relationship.
Enjoyment - when is it possible not to enjoy it? As long as the other person is willing I'm into it. I enjoy the sensual side of it most. The sensation of physical touch as an expression of affection and meaning.
Sum it Up - no sex = no love expression.
MBTI - INTJ (female)

My conclusion - I think a person's relationship to sex is unrelated to MBTI type.

Well, I am an NT and agree with other NTs about sex being for two commited people in relationships. When this is the scenario, well my sex drive is very high.
I enjoy sex immensely, yet only if I feel connected to my partner. I have tried the casual sex thing, and loathed myself for allowing myself to be used/ using someone. It trivialised sex down to something impersonal, and I don't think that is the way it is supposed to be.
